dd2 has got 2 jobs lined up but they won't take her on till next June, when she has finished school. No employer will, we asked them all even Mcdonald's.
dd3 is disabled and only 13 so impossible, she attends a special school till 5.15 every day.
She had a bus pass last year but our council only do it if your on benefits. I informed them of the change in circumstances and one wasn't sent out this year.0 -
You need to set up all your OH's accounts. His expenses should be separate from your daily living expenses. You should have a proper system for all his car costs including petrol insurance etc. Pay his national insurance stamp and put money by for his tax bill.
You really need to look at his job in a business fashion not just as money coming in. You need to keep real accounts to show the tax man and anyone else who may need to see them. If you are entitled to benefits these will prove your need and entitlement.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I can sympathise with your dd2 - a lot of employers will no longer consider under 16's (making the assumption she is?)(we no longer do where i work) as it's extra paperwork to get work permits and then you are only allowed to give them certain hours on certain days.0 -
If the bus travel is expensive but you feel vital, go without something else to pay for it. We all have to do it.0

Well we were talking about schools. So not sure why you've brought 6th form into it.
i wasn't sure of the age of the eldest child!!!
It's information parents need to know if their child is in the final year at school and reliant on the free service, it stops after the exams0 -

I dare say you aren't the only one where you live with children who have to get to the same school, perhaps it will be worth getting her to talk to her friends, possibly set up a little group that can all walk together so that they won't b alone when it's dark? As others have said, will get/keep them fit & also get them nice and alert for the start of the schoolday! Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!0 -
She doesn't go to the catchment school as I kept her at the old school when we moved, so there's no one for her to walk with and it is a dodgy area. It's not worth moving her to local school so close to her exams and it's the roughest school in the town, where they stab each other and have a police station on site lol.0

12 Hours a day, for 100 parcels works out at a minimum of
(12 hours * 60 mins) / 100 = 7.2 minutes per parcel
and thats not even considering he does collections to?
What sort of parcels can all be delivered within about 7 minutes of each other? Including say driving time, sorting time, time waiting for someone to answer the door, time while they inspect / sign for parcel, then finding next parcel, figuring out where to drive to next etc?
Hate to tell you this but 100 drops a day is typical for a courier driver for pretty much every parcel company other than Royal Mail. When I worked for Parceline as a night trunker and found this is how many the collection and delivery drivers did, I was astounded.0 -
