  • Hi,

Sorry for the late reply - I have been a bit busy the last couple of days.

Anyway, just to say I have CLEARED my MBNA card :D I also paid £1772 to my Barclaycard which is a good start.

When I cashed in my ISA Bond, Nationwide took £42 interest off me! It's not so bad, if I had taken out another CC to transfer the balance, the fee would have been more than that.

My debt free date is still this time next year (for my Student Account and Barclaycard) but I'm hoping to get rid of that in a 8 months. Fingers crossed!

  • Just to check in.

Still chipping away at the debt. Sold a load of stuff on eBay (typically the most expensive stuff hasn't been paid for yet!) so posted that today. £25.96!

I have my first Mystery Shopping job tonight. I'm really worried I'll make a fool of myself! :P But £15, is £15 - even if it is looking a bit shifty! :p

Need to find some more stuff at home to list. I'm running out of stock!

  • Some fabulous news!

I went over my overdraft (which is zero) on 28th September. I would like to say it wasn't technically my fault, but in hindsight it was. Basically eBay and Amazon still had this account as the one to take all my selling fees out, rather than my new account.

Anyway, I sent a letter to First Direct (the account its with) asking them not to charge me, and oh, can I please have all my charges back please? They said no (funny that)

So, in the mean time, I transfered £25 across waiting for them to take it out on the 21st October.

That's been and gone, so has the 22nd, 23rd and so on.

I thought I best ring them up to see what was happening. For all I knew they were going to take it out another day. So I've just got off the phone and THEY ARENT CHARGING ME! :D Reason being is that this is the first time I've gone over. I didn't want to say "No its not" but that's what the woman on the phone said! I think it's because it's the new year for reviewing the overdraft.

Either way, who cares! That's £25 back into my account, ready to pay some more debt

    Soooooooooo happy! :D

  • Hello again :)

When I thought I was running out of stock, a quick look round my room has showed me that I really haven't!

    So, yesterday I listed:

    [*]An A3 printer
    [*]A binding machine
    [*]An A3 laminator
    [*]An A3 paper trimmer

So big, expensive things! Again, I bought these all for uni, used them a couple of times and they just collected dust! I'm hoping that someone wants to buy them all to start a home office!

I'm still keeping my spending diary up to date. Every time I have a spend, I put it down. It's very interesting and makes me think before I buy.

Off to A$da to do the weekly shop. I'm part of the November grocery challenge and I've set a target of £160 a month, so I'll see how I get on.

Oh, and my DFD for my student loan is November 2016! :( I'd write it on my signature, but I've run out of space! :p

  • Hi guys,

Just a bit of an update. Not an awful lot to say really.

My eBay listings are going well. I put a reserve on my printer, but that hasn't been reached yet :( But there's still a day and a half. All my other things are selling, still at lower prices, but at least they have bids!

I sent a few of my old games to CeX, £15.10 on its way soon :)

Once all this other stuff has gone, I can clear out the rest of my room and list a huge IKEA desk which used to just be a place to store carp! But since its all been sold, given to charity or binned, it's empty! Once that has gone, I'm looking for a bookcase so I can put all my uni and college work on. At the minute, it's piled in a corner!

Had a big, important chat with my BF about money. It was really good. He's in debt too, but hasn't had his LBM, so I'm trying to help without nagging and forcing him into things he doesn't want to do. I think it was very good as I didn't know half of the stuff!

Trying to have NSD's but keep going to the post office to send stuff! I'm hoping for one today

Good to know you're still motivated and going in the right direction.

I know lots of DFWs don't count going to the Post Office as spending as it's unavoidable when you're selling stuff. So don't worry about that, just keep out of other shops!! You're hardly going to pig out on stamps!:D
  • I don't know - what's the calories in a stamp?! :op

Nice surprise today - got home to find a cheque from GlobalTestMarket! £31.19 :D

Still in credit at my bank (just!) Want it to last till pay day. Only another 11 more days!

  • Hi,

Super money saving day for me. Firstly, I met my mum for lunch (meaning free eats! :D) then I checked my online banking to find I received £1.32 interest! :D Oh, and its a NSD!

I know it's not going to clear my debts, but it means that I've been in credit more than debit this month! Also means if I can have anything more than 1p in my account, I won't be charged overdraft fees!

I owe it to this site and keeping a spending diary. Granted I have been selling a lot, but I haven't spent it on snacks or food out (maybe the odd time)

Gonna be a bit of an expensive day tomorrow - going on a cake decorating course with a friend (I can't even bake, but I'm going for the final outcome :p) so we are going to the amazing Nando's for lunch. Hopefully she'll buy my lunch as I bought the course, but if not, that's an expense. Also I'm making two Christmas presents from my Star Wars craft book (because I'm that cool!) so buying all the material won't be cheap.

Either way, I'm happy today :) Can't wait to do my shopping at A$da again. Lots of vouchers to use. Wonder how cheap I can get it this week! :D

  • Hello :D

Well what a fabulous day yesterday.

I went on a cupcake decorating course with a friend (bought of Groupon) It was great, and I was quite pleased with my efforts as I've never done anything like this before.

Also, a load of stuff sold on eBay. Transferred £62 from my PayPal account and still have £37 left to be paid and 3 items are finishing today! :D Money, money, money :D

Bit annoyed with MBNA - after paying it off, they still took the minimum payment out of my account! I rang them up and they are going to take 7 days to transfer it back! Oh well, at least it's coming back!

Off to A$da later. Have a £5 off voucher, so wonder how cheap it'll be :D

  • Hello :D

Today I did some good things, but then I did some bad things :(

    Good Things
    1. Managed to sell my printer that didn't meet it's reserve price on eBay to the highest bidder.....for £9.50 more than his highest bid! :D
    2. CANCELLED my RBS card! :money:
    3. Posted all my eBay items, except the one that STILL hasn't been paid for!
    4. Finished off my delicious cupcakes I made. A picture of them prior to eating is below!
    6926529.jpg

    Bad Things
    1. I drew £10 out of my current account - for no real reason
    2. I bought some snacks at lunch that I didn't really need or want, but ate them anyway
    3. My BF killed our iron so need to buy one of those tomorrow
    4. I'm fat :(
BUT - tomorrow is another day. Going to see my mum at lunch (no free eats!) so she can take the money off me and put it in my bank! Money does not stay long in my pocket!

Need to get my head back in the game of weight loss. I'm totally focused on money saving, but I think I'm on the road to recovery with that.......a slow one, but a road none the less!
