I must say I love teaching French. I did a bit of Spanish as well, as in those days I didn't fancy German at all. I know have a very close couple of German friends and I love listening to spoken German (I know! I'm weird!) Perhaps what I need is a hot German tradesman? ;)

  • He'd be very efficient! :rotfl:

I'm bored now I don't have the constant worry of being overdrawn or paying off credit cards!

That jacket I want has got bad reviews :( So my new plan is to make it myself! Well, not myself as such - buy a jacket and take it to the embroiders! :p Will save me a shed load of money! Still MSE even though I don't technically have to.

Gives me time to focus on looking for another job though I guess

Wow! I haven't written on here in ages! Nothing really exciting has happened - been eating my weight in food!

So, what MSE has happened? Paid off the flights to Toronto (in cash!) and going to pay the deposit for the B&B tomorrow (got $92.17 off too with some good haggling :D)

I've been looking for a new job (if I'm honest, any job but as long it's in the city I live in - I hate the traveling) and found if I take an £11k pay cut, I'll be £400 a month worse off (which isn't a lot when you think of the cut!) I spend £200 a month on diesel, so it's only £200, but I'll be student overdraft clear in 2 months (I pay £220.99 every month) so I'll break even (there is a logic there somewhere!)

However, the job hunt hasn't been going to well as I've had no responses :(

Other than that, I took 3 big boxes to the tip and got a load of freebies from some friend of mine :D

Nothing more to add really. Pay day yesterday, so that was another £520.75 to my debts.

The tax man sent me a letter on my birthday saying he's taking even more money from me! :( Really need to get my P11D so I can get it sent off.

Other than that, that's it really. Sorry it's not too exciting!

I lost my way a bit on the debt clearing front. Yes I've still been paying over and above what is recommended, but I'll lose focus if I'm not too careful.

So, I've been looking at my spreadsheet, which is ticking over nicely, however it says I'll be debt free in 3.5 years (or 42 more payments) which is pretty good considering at the beginning of 2011 I had over £40k of debt!

So I was thinking - could i reduce this to 2 years - basically before I'm 30? This is all my personal debt (so excluding the mortgage and joint BOM loan) Currently that total stands at £19319.49 (estimated because of student loan interest/final settlement figure)

The concern I have is that a lot of my extra payments to debts came from eBay selling. I've run out of stuff to sell now! Unless I really get rid of stuff, like my xbox and bass. Hmmmm....

I could put my share save money to it, but that's going on much needed house renovations and paying off my PT course. I guess a incentive to get qualified quicker, means I can do some work. I'm on a group cycling course in a few weeks, so when I've done that, I'll look for some freelance work in gyms.

It's something I want to do - my concern is with my tax as it is (£500 plus £200 NI) and now having to pay for fuel, I don't know how I could do it

Hi GreenSaints, have you thought, if you have the time and inclination to buy stuff cheaply at car boot sales or in charity shops to try and sell it on Ebay? If you are careful what you buy, it could be feasible, couldn't it?

I hope you're enjoying a long weekend of fun and relaxation :D

    Hey,

Sorry for my late reply! I've been on holiday and only remembered about clearing my debt now! :op

Regarding the eBay stuff - I'd love to do that. I did come up with a business idea which I'm thinking of trying along the same sort of lines.

Debt busting has taken a back seat, but in 12 days time my student overdraft will be gone! After 5 years of it sitting there!
