Hi Pinkgem,
Quote
"I've sold nothing on Amazon Marketplace since 24th February
In february i sold items on the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 17th, 19th, 21st and 24th of February, but now nothing for 9 days
Its probably because I only have 30 items listed at the moment although i'm the cheapest price on all but 4 which are 1p items"
I've only sold 1 item since Feb 23rd and I've got 500 items listed!!!
Oh yes and I've had one pending which didn't materialise into a sale.
It is just as though I have been switched off completely by Amazon. Things had been going nice and steadly at around 1 sale a day since Christmas, but now I will have to fund my Pro Merchant subs from my credit card today.

Amazon Customer services are wonderful just had a problem with feedback and was really upset, I phoned them explained everything and as it was obvious that something was amiss, they rectified it for me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Blimey Soo,
Thats great news - normally we only hear complaints about them.

I feel very thick asking this
, but... the next one. I'm thinking of the thickness of the book: where the pages join is called the spine, what's the name of the same area for the pages??? There's a stripe of black running along the bottom of every page, so that when you look at the book from the bottom, you can see this thick black stripe. Is that something I need to mention, or am I being too picky? And there's a square of glue remnant where the price label was, too.

Hi Karmacat,
I don't know if they have a proper name or not. I would say something along the lines of 'black mark along bottom edge of pages'. Also to say something like 'sticky label residue left from price label'.
There is normally plenty of room for descriptions in the listing box and I try to be as honest and upfront as possible with mine to prevent any comebacks later - so far it seems to have worked.
Having said that - will someone please buy some of my books!!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -
My computer self destructed 2 weeks ago tonight and if still with the repairer. 2 weeks of no new listings and checking for sales at work. Its a nightmare. My first 3 weeks of Pro Merchant selling were going so well. 28 items sold in the first 30 days. Oh well......heres hoping that a winge will fix the computer and bring in some sales.Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52

Hi Karmacat - welcome to our little old thread :hello: as numberthree says it's best that you mention everything but you can word things in such a way so that they sound OK, just think of an M&S food advert!
The sticky mark might come off it you try 'sticky stuff remover' from Lakeland Limited or lighter fuel, this came up a few weeks ago, I can't remember what else was mentioned - when I find the post I'll add it to the first page0 -

Where the pages join is actually the binding, assuming it's a hardback, the spine is the outer bit you can see when the book is on the shelf. I think thats what you mean anyway.
As for the black mark on the bottom edge, this is a common way of remainder stock being marked and as such should not be sold as new. Different remainder markings over the years have included cutting a chunk out of the bottom edge of the book, often referred to as a mouse bite (!), punching a hole through the cover on paperbacks was also once quite common.
All these flaws should be described, you don't need to use the jargon as most buyers would not understand it, though you may receive bad or poor feedback if selling remaindered stock as new.
Finally, as has been suggested lighter fluid, tesco's polish or the expensive stuff for books will remove the labe and sticky residue.Do You Twitter?

And Mr Muscle Window cleaner - brings covers up a treat and gets rid of general grot as well as sticky bits. De-solvit is great for the stubborn ones - will even remove minor biro marks from shiny surfaces - but use with caution - available form asda I know cos that is where I get mine (by the laundry stuff).0
