I understand kind of, though its not shoes that's my problem, its handbags! I've got better about it now, but I love them!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Am female but I absolutely detest buying shoes! Worst bit of shopping for me. I currently have about 4 pairs that I wear regularly - only one with heels (and they're boots!) and 3 flatties + a pair of old trainers, wellies and walking boots. I also have a pair of heels that I bought for a special occasion and don't expect will ever wear again! Basically if I have a pair of black a pair of brown and a pair of boots I am happy!

Would happily buy loads of jackets though - and books - and CDs....

What a great thread!
Shoes are make-up for feet IMO. For me, it's a look good, feel good and co-ordinate the outfit thing.
I don't know how many pairs I have! Probably around 30, some of which are boxed for specific occasions (black evening ones are 9 yrs old, but classic and in excellent condition).
Since I've not bought any clothes for months and months, I haven't bought any shoes either. Guess that's the "ooh, I haven't got anything to go with this" syndrome! :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

I'm addicted to buying flip flops in the summer. I have 9 pairs at the moment but know as soon as it hits the spring I will 'need some more'
I particularly love the Brazilian ones like havaianas and carriris. In Brazil you can get these wedge heeled flip flops which look fantastic and I'm really hoping somewhere in England starts selling them this year or I'll skint myself HAVING to order them from Brazil!

my theory on the shoe thing is .... you don't change shoe size, i am a size 5 and have been for as long as i can remember. So you can buy loads of shoes that reflect your personality. whereas you can go up and down a size in clothes, plus fashions change so you don't buy more than you need as you would end up throwing them out.Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....0

One of the motivations for me to get debt free is so that I can, at least once in my life, buy a pair of bespoke designer shoes.

The only problem with that is that if I ever had a pair of shoes this nice, I'd just sit and gaze adoringly at my feet all day! :rotfl:Hi, I'm Mich

I have loads of shoes too. the problem I have though is that I will buy a pair, wear them once or twice then they sit in my cupboard, but then I have about 4 pairs I wear to death!
this thread has inspired me to go through my shoes on the weekend, even if only to wear more of them and give my old favourites a rest.
BTW, my particular passion is for boots!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -

I too love shoes. I like shoe shops, catalogues, and ebay. I don't often buy though, unless it's a spectacular bargain. But I do tend to say 'well you know shoes are always welcomed into this house.' Whenever anyone asks what I'd like for my Bday or Xmas.
But generally, I only buy shoes when I need them, and they're generally second hand too.
My girls, even the 2 yr old, like shoes too. They like trainers, party shoes, school shoes, boots, sandals ... you name it, they're as happy as I to coo over shoes. The eledest saves her pocket money and likes to indulge with a pair of shoes from ebay. Bless her little heart.
Eldest boy (16) is a real fashionista. He has almost as many shoes and trainers as I do, and I've been collecting for years. All his bday/xmas/earnings and EMA seem to go toward fashion. Still, you'r only young once, and it's his money. At least it's not going on beer.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0
