winkle1 im very jealous of you, those shoes are lovely
now i only have about 5 pairs, but only really wear my work shoes (flat but pointy, 6.99 shoezone!) or my trainers (16.99 - sportsworld!)
i WOULD buy every high heeled pair under the sun, and i WOULD be in thousands of pounds of debt, and i WOULD have every colour under the rainbow if it werent for one thing - my weight.
im 5ft 7, and 12 stone 10 and not only can i not even stand in heels, 5 mins of wearing them my feet are so crippled i have to take them off. so i havent bought any in years.
i have one pair of wedges for the summer which again i love, but my little toes arent covered by the strap so theyre never worn and prob wont buy any others.
i HATE wearing flat shoes all the time. clubbing and alsorts. over the xmas period there were so many glittery platform high heels and i could of gone mad! but whats the point if you buy them, and just look at them on the shelf!
think ill go and cry now!!!!0 -
I have been instructed in no uncertain terms that if a pair of shoes comes into the house, I must throw a pair away. I think this is cruel - they are my friends.0

I love my shoes, in fact I think It goes a bit beyond that. I have no idea how many pairs I have over 100 at last count. I did think about selling them but I just cant bring myself to, I have sold everything else and just cant bring my self to sell my shoes. Most of them are in storage just now and I miss them so much!!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 086Proud to be dealing with my debts !Total Debt: Was £6368.84  now £945.36Sealed Pot Challenge 049 Aim £5000

I do love shoes but dont really get the shoe buying addiction thing either to be honest. I have never been able to buy many pairs as having incredibly narrow size 9 feet has always limited my shoe choices dramatically! I only own 3 or 4 pairs including a pair of boots.. oh and a pair of amazing floral wellies for festivals. Things are a bit better these days but growing up with such big feet was a nightmare. I tend to just admire others' shoes from afar :rolleyes:0

mmm, do I like shoes?!? Well the name says it all.....
I have no idea how many pairs I have (well I have 9 pairs under my desk as we speak and these are purely work shoes!). I went through a phase of buying a pair every couple of weeks, buying new ones when the heels wore down instead of getting them mended etc for about £50 each.
I think I am cured now, the last pair I bought was some boots that I got for £30 in New Look with some Christmas money and before that was a pair of flat-ish sandals for some weddings I was going to last summer (£25- Barratts), and before that was a £20 pair of stilletos (for work) from Topshop bought with vouchers from Pigsback.
3 pairs in 9 months is pretty good by my reckoning...... but I do plan on using £100 per month as my clothes and shoe fund when I am DF.Saving for an early retirement!0 -
mmmmmmmmmm...........shoes..........
I have about 16 pairs including trainers, work shoes, going out shoes etc. I used the 60% off code for Office shoes at the New Year and bought three more pairs, but was very good and sent them back after the 'high' of seeing them had worn off........it was hard though - particularly the purple pointy pair!0 -
Perhaps it's because when you buy a pair of shoes, they fit and they're going to always fit? And if you own enough and wear them in rotation, they're always going to look new?
I think in today's image obsessed society, it must be a great comfort to a lot of women that feet aren't going to change wildly like tums and bums, and shoes aren't going to suddenly go out of fashion.
As a stern browed bloke, I'm surprised to find I have 8 pairs of shoes. A quick run down and that's 2 pairs of trainers (1 ready for the bin, but running shoes unsused!), 1 pair of basketball trainers (bought cheap in the US), 2 pairs of work shoes (both knackered to some extent, need replacing), three pairs of casual trainers in various states of wear.
I'd quite like a pair of brogues though, but even in the Russell and Bromley sale they're silly money - would last a long long time I guess?Student Loan Company Ltd: 17,805 (2.8%) Overdraft: 500 (Interest free)

I'm ashamed to say that I have about 30 pairs of shoes! Buying them is like a confidence thing when I have really low self asteem. It's also the same with clothes, bags and my weight. I think this is the reason why I got is so much debt. No excuse, but when I get depressed I go shopping.
Even though I'm paying my defts off I still have huge urges to go shopping and spend money I don't have, hense the reson why I have not been around for a while. I seriously fell off the wagon and am struggling to get back on. Sorry to hyjack your thread with my tails of woe!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Ah im a shoe-aholic, but only if its a bargain. Im pretty good about not buying them when im in the shop even though it can be extremely hard to tear myself away from the gorgeous shoes (now im pining for shoes). I have diddy feet, size 2/3 so when i find a pair that fits, it always makes my little feet look extra amazing. Shoes make or break an outfit!
It's similar to the gadget addiction that my little'uns daddy has - always wanting a new gadget of some sort - now that is a very expensive addiction when it includes the latest in technology - damn them T3 mags he reads!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0
