What is it with Shoes?

  • Also shoes take alot longer to go out of fashion than clothes so i suppose it's not as bad as having a clothes shopping addiction - that would be far worse! Or even a name brand addiction - that will hurt your pocket tenfold!

I totally love shoes and think they make an outfit. However, I have spina bifida which means I have a slight foot deformity, so high heels are out, as are some other styles -means I keep my CC's within limit.
Since I got pregnant, I have stopped even going near shoe shops and designer clothes shops I used to like, is saving me a fortune. I would think nothing of spending £200 - £300 a month on a nice outfit, including shoes. I have many, many pairs of flats shoes, trainers, boots etc.
I have now decided no clothes or shoes this year, as after the baby is born (April) I will hopefully start getting back into my pre maternity clothes that havent been worn for ages, so they will feel like new clothes.

As a woman I am at a loss with the whole shoe thing. My shopping addiction is books!! I could spend forever and a day in a good bookshop. :rotfl:

Books for me too susplum, can spend a whole evening browsing on amazon and always end up buying at least enough for the free delivery.

Don't get the shoe thing though:rolleyes:

    - Your body size can change so much from day to day, depending on what you have eaten, how much exercise you have done, the time of the month etc....but you NEVER have a 'fat foot' day, where you just look at your shoes and think 'Urghhh, none of you will fit me today'
This is what I was going to say. Unless you put on/lose a LOT of weight, your shoe size doesn't change... If you have a fabulous pair of shoes you can ALWAYS wear them.

I'm not too bad myself (actually if you saw my flat I think you'd disagree!)

    No debt though ;)

  • I love shoes, I love bags, I love clothes, I love make up (I can't walk past MAC) and I love love love hair and skin products. Hence why I'm here. I don't know why, I'm sure a psychologist would have a field day, all I know is that I like to shop and it takes all of my efforts to keep on the straight and narrow! It doesn't help that the turnover in shops for new designs and items is so high, there is always something new to want, but hey thats why they do it!

I love shoes, I have loads (and I love books too) I wear most of the shoes I have for various activities but I hate throwing them away even when they are well past their best, I have to look smart for work.

I haven't got into debt for my shoe thing or my book thing!

Fab site and great prices! Cheers for that.
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

    Wow.

Stunned reading some of these stories.

100 pairs of shoes!!!!!!

I take size 13 and I long to have a choice over the shoes that I buy.

I'm lucky to find A pair let alone 100 pairs.

I also (Being a bloke) wear them till they drop off my feet. Even if they let water I'll still use them - just on dry days.
