    Hi guys,

Has anyone else been really scrutinised by Gyp this week? I did a burger and a chicken at the weekend and I have queries on both. One was a really poor visit and the other was just a long queue... Is this part one of the immenent 'Dear John' letter?

Did a burger yesterday but no queries as yet. I was pretty positive as... well, I couldn't find anything to fault them on really.

I gave a chicken a bad report a month or so ago, didn't get queried on it... might just check I haven't been banned from those!

I got a job coming up where I need to buy an £100 item if the sales advisor did a good job selling and then have to return the item an hour or more later. What sort of believable excuse do one use to return an item that was only just purchased 1 hour earlier?

you are buying it as agift for a friend to give that day and the person you got it for has already got a similar one, when you gave it to them, or variations there of ?

I'm not sure I'd risk it myself in case they found some query on the job

If it's in a shopping centre sometimes I say that I saw another pair of shoes that I prefered and you can say that you have put all your other shopping in the car in case they wonder where the other bag is.

Generally, I've just gotten away with saying that I changed my mind and the item just wasn't right for me.

Find the name of a similar shop nearby and say you've seen something you like better in ...........

I've used that one several times before and never had a problem getting a refund.
Here I go again on my own....

the only risk would be not getting paid. the £100 would be refunded in store an hour after purchase. The OP just wanted an reasonable excuse to use
  • i usually say something like it was a gift for my sister/brother/mother/father , and I just phoned my husband to say I'd got it and he's been out this morning and already got something ............

Thanks for the suggestions. Its near a shopping centre so I will say something similar to that. I'm sure there should be no problems returning the item, was just not sure what excuse would be believable. Thanks!
