Seller account restricted

Argos have the volume to make up for it, and probably good ratings which means they maintain things despite attracting their fair share of unhappy customers. They didn't get where they are today by their buyers thinking they were useless or not looking after them.

If you think they or your buyers are greedy, then that's your lookout, but the fact still remains you're responsible for what you do when you sell and if you don't keep the people who are paying happy eBay won't be happy with you. If your account is restricted you let something slip so you need to sort it out very quickly, stop complaining, stop looking at percentages and start working on your DSR ratings which are important.

Pretty soon your sales will start to fall off anyway, and you won't be given a chance to put things right. Buyers aren't giving money to charity, they expect a decent service, so you need to sort this out yourself rather than rant and rave at eBay. It's not sellers who got them where they are - it's buyers. So people who don't give their buyers what their buyers want will be booted. Sorry.

Not the buyers who are greedy its ebay who are greedy they want people to hide their shipping/postage charges in their item price so they can cream off more money so the fat cats can have their mansions.
I looked after my buyers just some people want the moon on a stick and are awkward for the sake of being awkward.

Oh and its buyers not sellers who got them where they are is a joke as well its both and their wouldn't not be one without the other
and if ebay are so bothered about customer satisfaction they need to have a good luck in the mirror

You be smug all you want but make sure you dont get ill or have any unforeseen circumstances, or a couple of malicious buyers, deliberate sabotages etc as it only take a few and bang.

for the record the thread title should be ''seller account suspended in defintley''
I'll just do what ever I can to put people off buying or selling on ebay from this day on
  • My account was restricted and I'm seriously p**sed off about it. It's all very well saying you just need to improve your customer experience but it doesn't work like that. It only takes a few people to leave you a 4 instead of a 5 and the odd 3 and all of a sudden your DSR's have dropped. I have 100% pos fb but my dispatch ratings are 4.5. That's not a terrible score except in ebay world where average is 3 and top notch is 5. If a buyer leaves you a 3 it's average for them, neither good nor bad but to ebay its enough to bring your average down to a dangerous level. I've been a business seller on ebay for 4 years so I know the score and try to adapt to the changes but the odds are stacked against the small seller now. And no, I don't have an answer :(

Actually 4.5 is poor when compared to the majority of seller. Virtually everyone I buy from maintains 4.8 minimum, some slip occasionally to 4.7 and it doesn't bother me too much. However I would probably avoid 4.6* or below if there was another seller with an equal price and would probably only risk buying if they were considerably cheaper. For any seller with any volume (more than 12 items a month) it means that buyers are regularly leaving poor stars- and that begins to show a disturbing pattern.

eBay need to look after the interests of the buyers.

You can rant all you like about greed on their part but it's worked to keep buying traffic on the site. If they were simply greedy for fees they'd turn a blind eye to someone who is failing their customers so they could continue to take their fees from your sales.

You can't palm off the responsibility on to them - your greed is also blinding you to the issues with your sales.

They don't have a fraction of the buyers they used to from what I can tell, Could be wrong though.

    My Greed ??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Please explain how you come to the conclusion that I am Greedy? Ebay don't give a stuff about anything other than profit.

You're right, nowhere near. eBay hasn't earnt the nickname 'fleebay for nothing. It's become a bit of a general joke. Businesses sell on there as a sideline, it is certainly not a main channel of revenue as noone uses eBay anymore in comparison to the others. It had its day and should have died a death by now. I'm honestly surprised it is still going.

I'm so pleased I use ebay and not whatever ebay site you think you are using. I have plenty of buyers, I have people emailing me to see if I have more stock as my best lines sell out quite quickly. I can afford nice holidays on my profits (and a new car delivered last Thursday) As for fleebay- playground names rather suggest an underage user- might that be the problem?

Johnnyboy, I'm sure we would all love to know what 'other sites' you mention that have all the trade instead of ebay- I certainly have never found one.

Maybe Crowqueen is right, maybe it is how we are perceived by our buyers and how we treat them that matters. Otherwise how can we account for such differring seller views on ebay? Selling is never easy- buyers take a lot of work - and pleasing sometimes! but they are the ones who make us our money. Forget that at your peril.

If you're not getting the hits, then maybe you need to work on your feedback and star ratings. Just a thought.

The fact is Amazon will give you a large percentage more of sales if you work it properly and invest in software for pricing, importing, purging etc.

It is by far a larger marketplace. Ok, this may be fractionally my opinion but I am not alone in this opinion.

If you are doing well on there then great but I'm just saying you could be doing even better elsewhere.

I've been selling on Amazon for about 7 years now but as the majority of my sales are not new items it is not possible to list them there with any degree of success. The collectable items I do list show much higher prices on Amazon, but never sell.

Until last year I was also a pro seller selling mainly books, but with a small stock of DVDs, CDs and toys- but the book market completely died for me last Autumn and I have more than halved my stock on Amazon now and given up pro membership. I currently hold a stock of around 750 items (again 95% books) and sell maybe 8 items a month.
