Seller account restricted

Hi guys

A few months ago probably around march/april My ebay account was restricted, I recieved a few 1/2 stars due to having a few problems such as pc blowing up and illness my posting times were a bit slack.
anyway I was restricted to 500 items p/m and worked very hard to get it all back up to standard to the point I was at standard or above on everything in uk/Ireland and America's but was 0.10% below on shipping time on global, so very close to getting back up.

However today when logging in I got a message saying account was restricted and all my listings ended effectively ending all my selling allowances, It gives no other info just says you can still buy on teh account.

Can anyone advise as to where I stand with this ? Its seems very harsh considering I have done everything to improve over the last few months , worked really hard and done everything I could.

All you can do is phone them and hope they're feeling generous.

Tried talking to someone on live help but like most ebay employee's they were beyond useless just the typical robots

Looks like its a stealth account needed, not that I know what they are just been reading up on ebay suspensions etc, seems they are only bothered about the big boy shops these days, nice considering I have been a customer of theirs for 10 years over
lets hope they go bust soon, !!!!!!
  • Hi I am p***** off with them today they have put a selling restriction on my account, due to low dsr, people have been leaving poor feed back saying my p& p charges are too high, they are not £1.00 postage , I think not, stamp , envelope , it is so unfair I have had a shop now for 18 months and doing well, now they wont let me list anymore, I am so upset, and trying to talk to them, its like talking to a recording , they all say the same thing, so its off to Ebid, and the up your income board, and surveys for me now, b******s to them. With the regulations, rules and high fees, I hope they come crashing down.:(
  • What's the lowest DSR you can have before they restrict your account?
  • not sure how it works but all I know is I have been fair with my prices

Whats service were you using? 1st class, 2nd class?

I am making an assumption here but... to be honest even if you were sending 1st class at 46p, then £1 is far too much to charge. Don't forget the buyer couldn't care less how much your envelope cost or how much time you spent wrapping and going to the post office. All they see is that you charged a £1 and then the value of the stamp(s) was less. The sensible thing to do would have been to charge less for postage and then add the extra onto the price of the item.

If more than a handful of buyers think you are charging too much then you need to do something about it or suffer the consequences. Its tough on ebay and you have to adapt to survive.

Don't expect the same level of sales on ebid but good luck anyway.
  • There is absolutely No Point in speaking to them! I was a Power Seller with over 700 + feedback! No negs! The same happened to me after a number of people started giving me low marks for postage, even though I was weighing them and pricing the postage at cost price.
When I received my warning email I lowered to only offer 2nd class post and my ratings started to improve, however come the next month end Ebay just restricted my account from selling!
I spent ages trying to convince them that when I found out my DSRs were too low I had taken action (which they could see) and they were getting better.
All I got was script waffle from them telling them how much they valued me! PAH!!
I then got crafty! Googled a way to change my IP address and set up a new IP address, set up new account at my sisters address and sold sold sold!!! That will show em!
Any way to cut a long story short after a few months the initial low ratings giving for postage cost dropped off and without even emailing me my original accounts selling restrictions dissapeared!
It's very infuriating I know I got low marks for postage in some cases when I was offering Free Postage!

I tried all the other ebay type sites, no sales, only other place to try is Gum Tree!

Free p&p automatically gives you 5* & the buyer is unable to score you.

They really have turned into a greedy bunch of !!!!!!s, I had 99.5% feedback argos have less than me and they are top rated seller, they have a far higher amount of neutrals too percentage wise, same with loads of loads of other sellers, They are just turning on those who made them in the first place and will suffer greatly sooner or later.

I would get more sense If I went and talked to the fish in the pond in the back yard than talking to their robots

    Absolutely Fuming!!!!!

Argos have the volume to make up for it, and probably good ratings which means they maintain things despite attracting their fair share of unhappy customers. They didn't get where they are today by their buyers thinking they were useless or not looking after them.

If you think they or your buyers are greedy, then that's your lookout, but the fact still remains you're responsible for what you do when you sell and if you don't keep the people who are paying happy eBay won't be happy with you. If your account is restricted you let something slip so you need to sort it out very quickly, stop complaining, stop looking at percentages and start working on your DSR ratings which are important.

Pretty soon your sales will start to fall off anyway, and you won't be given a chance to put things right. Buyers aren't giving money to charity, they expect a decent service, so you need to sort this out yourself rather than rant and rave at eBay. It's not sellers who got them where they are - it's buyers. So people who don't give their buyers what their buyers want will be booted. Sorry.
