I can't remember what the site's called but there is a website dedicated to tv competitions and there's a forum where you'll be able to get all the info you need.
    good luck!

There probably is a family with those members, but unless they practise synchronised tweeting I'd guess that one member is doing most of the work.

I reckon they're scheduling tweets with something like hootsuite?

I manage to get through a good batch

Then I click to the first page of the comps board and find 7 new pages waiting _pale_

Do the same people not post regular comps anymore? I normally post Babyworld comps every month having taken over from BM a while ago & just had a PM to say they've already been posted today so I've duped them all  Obviously as I hadn't posted them by noon on the day they started, I wasn't going to bother ;) xx

I'd heard something like that too, but I've also noticed that many of the permission boxes you have to click to proceed in the comp-entering now include a bit saying something along the lines of "Permission to email me at *****@yaha."
Hope that's how they get around it as since the changes I'm not getting notification to my email of FB messages :(. And has anyone (who actually realised they had an "Others" folder :rotfl:!) had any mail delivered to it lately?

That's interesting that you've heard that, as Facebook rules (see http://www.Facebook.com/promotions_guidelines.php) state that you can't notify winners via wall posts or messages - this means it MUST be done by collecting email addresses from your entrants and emailing them. Of course, the majority of promoters ignore this rule - but that's how it SHOULD be done! Email is of course the only reliable and fair way to inform winners too - people can easily miss an announcement on a wall post and a lot of people aren't even aware of their 'Other' Messages inbox where all messages from non-friends end up!

A useful tip is to add pages where you've entered a comp to a List (from your Homepage, choose LISTS bottom left, then MORE next to it. Choose 'Create a list' and 'Add friends' - then choose 'Pages' from the drop down menu) - it's a little time consuming, but then from your homepage you can view that particular set of pages in your Newsfeed to check if they've announced your name as a winner! This is more useful for people who don't enter too many comps on Facebook, as you don't have to add so many pages to your list.

Hi Guys, my gf and I were watching million pound drop a few weeks ago and she suggested that i sign up for it because apparently I have good general knowledge.

Anyway i was wondering whether anyone on here has entered any tv competitions such as millionaire, deal or no deal or my personal fave The Cube ( i could so win that lol), and more to the point have u ever won anything of any significance???

My friend LizD31 has been on Deal or No Deal, back in the early days I believe!

I've been on seven gameshows and was successful on Supermarket Sweep, Divided and Are you smarter than a ten year old. It's much easier to get on a brand new show - once the first series has aired they will get many, many more applications. A good place to look is http://www.starnow.co.uk/Casting-Calls/United-Kingdom/TV-Reality/Game-shows/ - you can also read my blog for a bit of advice at http://super-lucky.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-get-on-tv-gameshow.html - good luck!

I was just looking at the guidelines in your link and practically every competition on Facebook breaks the rules. Entries must not be conditional on Liking a page or post or posting a comment. They all do that don't they?

Yes, I reckon probably 90% of Facebook comps are violating the promotional policy by asking us to Like, comment or post on a promoter's wall! Facebook don't enforce the policy simply because it would be so hard to do - although they have shut down Facebook pages of big companies for running illegal comps, so I think they plan to clamp down a bit more in future.

It's not really fair that big companies (Chat magazine are a repeat offender) continue to run illegal comps on their wall, whilst other companies are paying to do it properly via an 'App'. But then, the comps that are run on FB walls are often a lot more fun than 'proper' Apps!

I do make a point of telling promoters that 'Most Likes' promotions are against FB rules though - I hate those, and now that you're able to Like a photo without Liking the page it's on, they're pointless in terms of increasing your fan base anyway!

Has anyone created a custom field name in a roboform v6 identity that will check the "I have read and accept the full terms and conditions..." box on ITV entry pages when you fill all the fields by clicking the Identity button?
