email links work properly for me in chrome. What happens when you click on an email link on another site's webpage eg. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3583411 ?
You could also try a proper log out from MSE (which clears MSE cookies).

Not a Chrome user myself but will try to help, if you are using Gmail you can use this extension
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dgkkmcknielgdhebimdnfahpipajcpjn

also it's worth noting that if you use Adblock this interferes with Google Chrome so it might be as well to turn it off before clicking on any email links

    hope this helps!

Thanks! I've got it sorted I think it was a rogue extension I'd downloaded to get email links to open in yahoo. I've installed another one and now they're working perfectly.

Sorry to keep bugging you but now I'm struggling to post on Chrome because the enhanced editing box isn't working. If e.g. I make text bold it doesn't show the text as bold until I go to preview, it just puts the code around it. It's ok for short posts but a nightmare for longer ones. I've downloaded vBulletin WYSIWYG but it messes up the spacing all the time and lags a bit, is there any other solution?

None that I know. I actually prefer this format and had switched to it when I used IE before I started using chrome. It was especially useful when substituting things like & # % into links - but we don't do that anymore do we ;)

It might be one of those things that you end up liking if you persist for a short time.

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could advise me on this 'win'?

I opened the email today 1/11 at 12pm and was told I had won a VIP trip to see the Xmas lights switched on and £500 M&S vouchers but because it takes place today I have missed the prize. From the T&C's I was supposed to have been notified by the 28th October. Obviously I have missed the lights switching on but do you think I should persue the vouchers as it is their fault they have not told me in time?

Copy of part of the email .......

    Hi Diane,

    Congratulations!

I’m writing to inform you that you have won a pair of VIP tickets to this year’s London Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch-On. This year, M&S is hosting the celebration as well as a fabulous party at its Marble Arch store on 1 November. The event kicks off from 5pm and will mark 55 days before Christmas Day.

In addition to getting access to our VIP area to watch The Saturdays push the plunger to switch on the lights, you’ll be given access to the M&S party at our Marble Arch store and £500 M&S vouchers.

In order to claim the prize you must accept it by replying to this email with your mobile number before 09:00 on 1 November 2011.

Just as a reminder, I’ve copied below the terms and conditions you accepted when you entered.

You will receive your prize (VIP passes and £500 M&S voucher) when you and your guest arrive on the 1 November 2011. You may be required to provide photo identification to claim your prize. Unfortunately, if you are unable to attend personally on the 1 November, you will be unable to claim your prize.

Do let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to help.

    Many thanks,
    Chris

Have you missed the prize because you did not respond or because you can't make it down to the venue for 5p.m?

It would be very difficult for me to get to London for 5pm today, nigh impossible really.

My whole gripe is according to their T&Cs the winner will be notified of their win by 28/10, and they contacted me yesterday 31/10, so not only have I not had chance to arrange travel etc, I've missed out on the £500 M&S which I fairly won.

    Hope that makes sense.

I have written an email to air my grievence but not had a reply as yet.

Fingers crossed they get back to you with something suitable. Take a screenshot of the t&c's before it disappears ;)

    15. If a winner does not confirm acceptance of the Prize within 24 hours of the email notification being sent and provide relevant contact details within this time another random draw will take place from the remaining entries and another winner will be selected.

It's possible that this clause 15 is in play and you were not the first winner drawn, but that previous "winners" have not replied or have turned it down. If not, they have clearly breached their own terms by not informing you in time. Conversely, the prize should be yours for 24 hours from when they sent the email, so I doubt they have enough time to give it to someone else.

To find the time they sent the email try right clicking on it and selecting something like "View Headers" - there is something like this in most email clients.

Persistence pays off - Good luck

    Thanks One-Eye for that.

I found the time they emailed me yesterday, and I am out of the 24hr response time limit.

I shall ask for proof that I was not the first 'winner' drawn if it is as you say.

    Thanks for in-put though :T
