Can anyone help a thicko. I know how to do the `following` bit but its when I have to `retweet`, I can`t work out what I am supposed to put. I get a box which has [EMAIL="`@anyname"]`@anyname[/EMAIL]`, what do I do with that.
There is probably a page that would tell me what to do but I need it `put as simple as possible`.

erm..not really. you want to retweet a comp, and that means the ORIGINAL tweet, not the one someone else you are following has already retweeted.
The tweets that you post that are retweeted can be easily seen by you, and people who run comps use that to see who entered.

Example. I run a comp and tweet asking for RTs to enter.
Person A sees it and RTs, and person B sees that tweet and RTs it.
I can see my tweet retweeted and by who and know A did it. B hasn't retweeted anything directly from me so I have no idea they did it..so they ain't entered.
#hashtags and mentions may help, but they aren't certain to get you entered.

When you see a retweet you need to go find the original tweet to RT and go from there as already mentioned by retweet under it...if you look for the @whatever in the RT that usually takes you to the original page which you probably need to follow anyway.

Never RT a RT if it's a comp. You are wasting your time. If you're asked for an original tweet, maybe a question answer...then they will not find that either unless you include the @ and or # tags for them to search for.

People RT my stuff all the time, it means they aren't entered.

There is a large list of MSE usernames in the discussions threads if you search the forum.
You don''t need a lot of followers, you need a lot of people to follow or a few busy compers... @TimothyBain is me and most of the people on mine are compers to follow who are very busy

Question for the peeps who enter FB comps (I gave up on the twitter idea, not enough friends and it's too complicated for a simpleton like me).

Do the people email you if you win, else otherwise how would you know you've won? It's just that all of the pages you have to like come up when you go onto facebook, and I don't give a flying fig if Schuh or whoever have dressed their shop window in Outer Mongolia or wherever. So I've hidden them all.
