has anyone ever won anything from this site? or is it a waste of time?

hi, not recommended :) & never have seen any winners from them :)
    from the comping guide..
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1014121

11 Are there any sites, from experience, which are likely to generate lots of spam?
There are a few which have come to our collective attention as sites that, when used for comps, seem to generate lots of unwanted postal, email & phone call attention. These are listed below for your information, however, please do remember that this is only the collective opinion of other MSE Compers & does not necessarily reflect upon the sites themselves.

    2minutedraw
    4FreeUK
    ABCWins
    ActiveYou
    Clash Club/Clash media
    Club La Costa
    Consumer Lifestyles
    Consumer Opinions
Craftomatic Beds (Comps appear to be just a way to get a salesman into your home, especially if vulnerable/alone)
    Emailinform
    EZ Prize Giveaway
    Fair Exchange
FindAPrize (questions raised if prizes awarded, slight spam, non existant company address, dodgy? Info here & here)
    GetMeATicket
    GetYourBillsPaid
    GreatUKsurveys
    Guide2Win
    InstantPrizeDraw
    Just-Rewards
    Lingscars
    MyConsumer
    MyFamilyUK
    MyOffers
NoizeMakesEnemies (Care - your profile with name, address, phone number & email appear to be on show with no way to make it private!!)
Nuts (comps.nuts.co.uk - comps are now run by the data collecting company Data Media & Research Ltd.)
    OffersClick
    OfferX
    Opinioniser
Optimax (phone calls, letters & emails!)
    PenicuUK.com (linked to Weatherseal below)
PickMeUpMagazine (Care: the magazine comps seem to be unaffected, but any comps which direct to comps.PickMeUpMagazine.co.uk are run by the data collecting company Data Media & Research Ltd)
Premier Christian Radio (lots of postal junk mail even when you opt out of future contact)
    Prize4U
    Prizes.UK
    Plum Offers
    PrizePunch
    RewardsToday
    Simple2Win
    SupremeOGlaze (linked to Weatherseal below)
    Space Kitchens (see thread here)
    Tickbox
    Topfox
    Toyhound
    UK-PrizeDraw
    VoiceInACrowd
    Vouch4me
    Weatherseal
    Weather Wherever
Whats On TV (now 'powered by Instant Win 4 Now')
Willowbrook (chairs) (have pestered with phone calls quite badly on some comps - see here and also here)
    Win 4 Now
    Win24
Zenith Windows (linked to Weatherseal above)

    ..............

ETA.. have sent this to Glad (BG) to move to comps discussions

The new WOW is helping though.

    All the best.

For the past week, I've been entering comps using the WOW but I don't think it's working for me lol. I can't get past the first 10 pages as when I check back, I find some more I haven't entered (as they've since been thanked and moved up) and the comps without WOW have been seriously overlooked. I'll go back to entering by closing date ;)

    Hi,Matryoshka
I don't use "WOW" all the time. It's just good to have a way of sifting the comps every so often so I can spot any "juicy" ones I've missed.

Has anyone created a custom field name in a roboform v6 identity that will check the "I have read and accept the full terms and conditions..." box on ITV entry pages when you fill all the fields by clicking the Identity button?

im afraid this is no longer possible since ITV got smart with html/naming/stringythingy whatever it is of the boxes as each time you now visit the same page the field name is different, so for e.g realdeal this friday the terms box would be like

    ctl05$ctl13$cda80d3d-9c36-40da-979b-bd6499d822ce$0:chk

and next fridays would be like

    ctl05$ctl13$cda80d3d-9c36-40da-979b-yd6469d825ce$0:chk

and there is no way to have RF identify different characters/strings - i know bc i've asked ;(

On ITV comps I first copy the url, then fill all the details out, save it as a passcard, then post the url in the box click the passcard and then the only thing you have to change each time is the captca. I repeat this until my maximum amount of entries is reached.

i think i know what u r doing here and it will work as you do it, however like i said above im sure it wont next time you visit again another time/day and so you would end up with a lot of one-time-only passcards

the easiest solution i have found for firefox (not sure if this will work with other browsers) - go to the itv comp page and press ur identity button to fill in your details, choose ur answer, tick which boxes you like and press submit without entering the captcha

everything will still be there as it was with a message saying the captcha is incorrect - proceed to enter the newly displayed captcha and submit, when you get thru to the thank you for your entry page, press the back button on your keyboard and from the pop-up box which should by default have the 'resend' option highlighted just press enter on your keyboard = you are back on the comp entry page with answer, personal details and all ticks in place just ready to do the new capthca, submit and repeat until you've filled your quota

ps - you can ignore any captcha that is made up of numbers ;)

In between entering the comps on mse I have been entering the Twitter comps at http://twitter.com/competitionclub

I haven't really been winning anything and I am wondering if I am doing them right :(

can someone put my mind at rest and tell me when a comp ask's for you to RT a message on competition club to enter do you RT the competition club message or the actual promoters tweet?

you should RT the promoters yes, the best way to obtain this from competitionclubs timeline is to click to open in a new tab on the timestamp of the post part that looks like say '5 minutes ago' or 2 hours ago' and this will take u directly to the promoters original tweet where you can simply hit RT :)
I made a little video about the Basics of Twitter comping which might help you out, you can find it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhXZJ-1f9RE

It's always best to click on the promoter's name in your friend's timeline and go to their Twitterfeed to find the original tweet - you will usually need to Follow them to be a valid winner anyway, and it's also worth a quick check to see that the competition is still running. People regularly retweet old comps that have closed!

Di, if you follow my point above you dont need to go to their feed and hunt out the original tweet ;)

With the ITV comps I just fill in my details with Roboform and tick the boxes the first time (including captcha), when I get to the confirmation page I refresh and you're taken back to the form which is all filled in apart from the captcha.

There are two new comp on John Lewis.
One opens on the 4th & one seems live now. They have altered the terms in the past when they have been posted early on here.
Could a Facebook user please have a dig about on the John Lewis FB site for these two & see if they are posted on there. If so please let me know & I'll get them posted.
    Cheers

No sign of them on the Facebook wall yet - the last comp posted was the bedding competition on 31st Oct.
  • Just started doing the facebook and Twitter comps, I understand they can contact you if you win through facebook/twitter rather than through your email, it's just I'm unsure where to check for these, any help would be great, thanks.
