Just started doing the facebook and Twitter comps, I understand they can contact you if you win through facebook/twitter rather than through your email, it's just I'm unsure where to check for these, any help would be great, thanks.

Sometimes FB companies do not contact you at all and just announce winners on their wall which is not ideal,a lot of people check a page called The Winners Circle where a lot post winners names they have seen ,also although it is not great you could try googling your name every so often together with the words Facebook and win or winner.
    :p
  • Hi,

I'm new to comping and have noticed what seems to be the same comp with different letters in brackets e.g (FT) (biz) (CPC) I was just wondering what this means.

    Thank you.:)

    Hi,nothing to worry about :-)

You can enter each comp & the code is just a way of sorting and IDing the seperate comps eg FT is Fortean Times whlist CPC is Classic Performance Car.
Just helps when there are maybe a dozen of the same prize/comp.

Anyone else finding the forum slow at the moment, or is it just me I wonder? I click on a comp. to open it and it seems to take quite a bit longer than usual for the page to load. (It could just be my cluttered up p.c. of course!).

I've noticed that happening the last week.:o
Personally, I think it's the tweet and fb links now inserted into every post.
Everytime I open a new comp post up I have to wait at least 2-5 secs more to see the rest of the post.:(

There's a twitter competition posted here

    https://twitter.com/#!/BBC_TopGear

to win a Microsoft Xbox 360 with Kinect and a copy of Forza Motorsport 4.

I've done a search using ' Microsoft Xbox 360 with Kinect and a copy of Forza Motorsport 4', 'https://twitter.com/#!/BBC_TopGear' and 'BBC_TopGear' and can't see it posted, however, I'm not sure about posting twitter competitions, so perhaps someone else could check if it's been posted or post the relevant details, please.
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.

You don't need to be a FB member to view this page:
    http://www.facebook.com/JohnLewisRetail?sk=wall&filter=2

Neither comp is mentioned - all previous comps do seem to get mentioned here. For the candles (444) I would wait until mentioned or 09/11.

The signup comp (445) is a bit different and if you look at the T&C page it is headed "JLinstoreDCcompoctnov2011" so I would say this one is OK to enter now.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I have Googled it and can't find it.....I was entering a comp from here and someone said something about opening the competition links differently so that it didn't identify the start point as being MSE. They said they thought it might reduce the chances of winning (or I might be imagining that bit).

Can anyone else remember this or know anything about this? I'm curious about it and wanted to look into it a bit more.
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.
