I'm sure that I've seen a winner on here in the past.0 -
You don't need to be a FB member to view this page:

Neither comp is mentioned - all previous comps do seem to get mentioned here. For the candles (444) I would wait until mentioned or 09/11.
The signup comp (445) is a bit different and if you look at the T&C page it is headed "JLinstoreDCcompoctnov2011" so I would say this one is OK to enter now.
Cheers One-Eye.The newsletter comp is now posted here.0 -
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I have Googled it and can't find it.....I was entering a comp from here and someone said something about opening the competition links differently so that it didn't identify the start point as being MSE. They said they thought it might reduce the chances of winning (or I might be imagining that bit).
Can anyone else remember this or know anything about this? I'm curious about it and wanted to look into it a bit more.
Mind you I've not worried too much as I've won some big prizes without any bypass tricks.0 -
I've tried some of the techie ways but now just drag the comp link to a new tab. That seems to leave no back trace to MSE.

What techie ways? On a few comps I've opened them from the OP link, copied the URL and then pasted that in a new window - is that much the same as dragging like you say you do? Where possible I've also gone back a step on a link - e.g. a website with several comps listed, and click into the MSE listed comp.
I have no way of knowing whether this makes a damn bit of difference - I'm just a cynic!!
Good luck all.xIf you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -

Your C&P of the link is pretty much the same as my "dragging" but I'd say that "dragging" is a lot quicker to complete.
It's all down tp personal preference & style of comping. Some promotors will not like MSE type entries but I would expect that given the number of comping portals on the 'net at the moment most will have ceased bothering.0 -
Hi there,
I'm not sure whether I'm posting in the right place but I have a question and wondered whether any of you lovely people would be able to help me please.
I've decided to start entering competitions on facebook but didn't want to use my normal account that's been active for a few years for various reasons, one of which being that some of the comps require you to post to your wall or comment etc. and I feel as though I don't want to hassle my facebook friends with all of this.
Anyway, I've set up a new account today, specifically to enter competitions. After 'liking' a few pages etc, facebook then logged me out and said that having more than one account violates their T&Cs. I had no idea this was the case, now I'm in a bit of a dilemma as I really don't want to use my usual account for comps.
What do you do about your facebook account when entering comps? Do you have more than one account? If so, how do you get around it?
Thank youThank you so much to everyone who post & help with comps! :j
