It seems rbs must pay out when ever and to who ever they like . I got my £2600 today that's 15 workin days!!! Think people should get angry over this cos it clearly isn't fair!

This is getting beyond a joke regarding the payout times with RBS/Natwest.

I was quite content to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait the 28 days before I started emailing, but now I think I'm going to be emailing them pointing out the fact that though I've been advised by them that the delay in paying people out is around 2 months, this isn't the case!

I'm just going to toddle off and check my online banking with RBS to see if there's anything in there............

Well that was a waste of time! Still no money from them - time to get email writing me thinks!

recieved this email from RBS within an hour of me emailing them
    Dear Mr Coleman
Thank you for your email which has been received by the Executive office at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
I am sorry to hear of the delay you have experienced regarding your PPI settlement payment. Regrettably, settlements are taking a little longer than originally anticipated. I have forwarded your details to the PPI Team and I would like to thank you for your patience, in the meantime, whilst one of the team get in contact with you regarding the issues you have raised.

If in the interim you need to speak with a colleague in our PPI team you can call them on 0161 755 6890. There should be an agent available to speak with you between 8am-5pm.

    Yours sincerely

  • Just a quick update.

    Date of claim - 21st May 2011.

    Offer from RBS - 8th September 2011.

Acceptance letter received by RSB 14th September 2011 (phone on 15th and told that letter had been scanned onto system.)

Phoned on 21st October to ask why my £8,000 had not been credited to my account, only to be told that they were 1-4 weeks behind with calculations!!!!

On 28th October I emailed the CEO and made a complaint about the way RBS were handling the whole fiasco. :)

4th November received an email from the PPI team advising that the amount was being paid to my account.

Checked on Tuesday 8th November; lo and behold the full amount had been paid, albeit in two separate amounts (payments followed by interest.)

Whether the email did hurry things along, I cannot tell for sure, but anyone who has waited over the 28 working days cannot lose anything by dropping Michael Hester 'a line.'

Good luck to everyone - hope you all get YOUR money as soon as possible!:)

I will do Daz, I am seriously thinking that I should now e-mail Stephen Hester - can yu give me his e-mail address if you have it and I will e-mail them from work tomorrow. I am also thinking of sending a fax tomorrow and ringing them up again.

Its 10 weeks tomorrow since they received my acceptance!!

I am also thinking of copying the FOS into the e-mail that might shake them up!!

Please keep me informed of when you receive your money!!

  • Hey after over a year and via the fos I finally got my claim noticed and rbs agreed to pay me the usual. Yesterday I got a cheque for the interest amount but not the money I had paid already. I defaulted on my loan and it's now with a debt collection agency-can rbs still with hold my money and use it towards the amount I owe? I have spoken to rbs and informed them I was waiting for my recalculated loan amount in order to start a trust deed.
  • I have e-mailed Stephen Hester and Ron Teerlink this morning - I know that Stephen Hester has read the e-mail message as I got a receipt. I have said in the e-mail that I want a positive response and not a generic one!!! I have also said that if I dont hear by next week then I am contactin the FOS to tell them how long I have been waiting for my money!!

I will let you know if/when I get a reply!!
