Hope you're okay huni.

Hubby sounds one in a million - with the birthday breakfast, all I'd want is my bed after a shift like that!!
Can't believe they've got 1 more day left at school, dd come home 2ngt with her little list for presents - the teaching assistant is retiring, so got her piggy watering can (£2.00 - Half cost) and a gardening set (free gift from catalogue), apparently shes loves gardening......
Its the teacher, another present for the TA - as the other present is her retirement present, and the 2 ladies that come in and read books with them!!
So inbetween trying not to throw the computer out of the window, trying - Help- to do an assisgnment on money and markets......... so am raiding craft box and there going to have bookmark, doggie zip thingie, and mobile phone charm, and keyring.......
Why she leaves it to the last ngt!! Shes so exicted as she goes into the juniors and they have serperate entrance from the infants!!xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Good luck with the assignments. You must be very focussed to keep going. It will be so worth it in the end though. Oh I remember those days well mum2one. The children moving into new classes and then schools. Have been at the same school myself now for nearly 14 years as a TA (teaching interventions) and see other peoples children going through the same thing. Bless 'em. They are so excited and yet really nervous at the same time. All we can do is help with the transition.
I saw a fabulous idea re: a gift for teacher, on one of the other threads, was a packet of seeds with a little handwritten note that said 'Thank you for helping me grow' I thought that was so sweet, I would definately have used that if I'd seen it when mine were young.
You're right about OH. Even after 25 years I wouldn't change him for the world. We balance each other out. I can be hyper and he's sooooo laid back. Every morning without fail he brings me tea and toast up, even at the weekendsI first 'went out with him' when I was 17 (he was a friend of my brothers) Then we went our separate ways. He got married then divorced, then by chance we met again and just carried on were we left off. I suppose if you're meant to be together love finds a way ♥
Oh I'm sounding all soppy now.
Can't believe it's Friday already tomorrow. That has been such a fast week. Have given myself the first week off to relax then getting started on some jobs in the house. I'm going to redecorate the bathroom with a lick of paint and a bit of shabby chic.

Good luck 4 2mor - bet no one will want to work, I hold my hat off to TAs you work ur backside off and do a lot, I know teachers work hard as well, but hopefully you can get some time for you over the hols.
You sound organised with the decorating, - that appears to be a dirty word in this house, even the dog has started stripping the wall paper off in the front room, while chipwood was so 80s.........
Normally more orangised with OU, but had an exam in May for other course, then the 2 new ones started May as well, so its been fun, course I go throu fads of working throu, other days - could throw it throu the window, but were get there, touch wood I passed the exam, I get Dipolma in Business, then one of these 2 courses - that get me Foundation degree in Business, set meyself task of getting degree b4 I'm 40, but thats creeping up to quick.Next March....
What age do you have?
PS - Has hubby got a single brother - must be trained for breakfast in bed (just for weekends!!) xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi Taxi. We broke up from school last week so have had a lazy first week off. So funny re: your dog, sounds like a comedy sketch.
The course you're doing sounds soooo complicated. I can't even get my head around the OU credits system so I'd have no chance doing one of their courses lol Though if I did it would be a religion/philosophy one, maybe with some art and literature thrown in.
Up to now birthday has been lovely.
Got up this morning and DD had got 3 of those birthday balloons with helium in and arranged the dining table with photos on and banners. Aw it was a lovely surprise.
OH and I went to Morrisons for breakfast on the way home like we said. That was nice. Got home and opened my cards and pressies.
DD got me a new phone (mine was driving me bonkers) I got an mp3 player so now I can load it with music and listen to it at the gym, no excuse now, a book, some more vegan chocolate from Hotel Chocolat and a big bottle of Sailor Jerry's. I said I'm so lucky to get all these and DD said, no we're the lucky ones having you as a mum! Now that is worth more than anything else
It's very quiet here now though. DS and girlfriend are watching tv in his room, DD has gone shopping with a friend, other DS is at work and OH is in bed. I do need to do a bit of a tidy up and hoover so will do that in a bit.
mum2one sorry OH has no brothers just two sisters lol
As for the decorating I googled a few shabby chic bathrooms and may take some ideas from those. We painted not long ago in there but I'm fancying it being a bit more very pale bluey/aqua colour, it's antique cream at the moment.
As for age mum2one let's just say I wont see 40 again and that was a while ago lol Though in defence of my age everyone who knows me says I still look in my thirties. I think my mums side of the family all had good genes as none of them look their ages.
Don't know whether to go to John Lewis today to have a look at their sewing machines. Still pondering over that. I suppose I could learn to make some simple cotton tops. How hard can that be? And DD said she'd use it. Could also make shabby chic items....hmmmm

Glad you had a gd day and got spolit rotten, never mind not seeing 40 again, I'm sure it goes back and sticks at 21 and a bit!!
Typical - no single men..!!
def go for a sewing machine, you can do a lot with it, be mse in no time. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Tar mum2one
Had a drive out this afternoon with a friend. Went to a couple of pubs in the sticks. Had a great natter and a reminisce about the good old days when we were young and carefree lol
Spent about £10 today too...not good.
Just had crispy baguette from the oven topped with chopped tomato, red onion and drizzled over olive oil and fresh chopped basil. Ooh I love it!
Going to do a bit of crochet after I've had a browse on here. OH watching Rebus but I'm not that keen on it. Bit too grim and gritty for me. Give me Morse/Lewis, Midsomer murders anyday.
Been very drizzly today but didn't spoil the drive. It looked very peaceful with the mist over the hills.
Still looking into getting a sewing machine, then when I see one I like, at a price I like, I read the reviews and then I'm back at square one! No rush though.
Hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend.

Ah now I've been looking at those and I'm going to go into one of the stores for a demonstration. As long as it's easy to thread in and low hassle re the bobbin I might go for one of those. Tar mum2one.

Have decided to do a little bit of Feng Shui each day in the house.
Yesterday I taped 3 coins underneath my orchid plant pot as it's supposed to encourage financial growth...
Today I'm going to clean the fridge as this symbolically opens up space for prosperity to enter along with fresh opportunities, same as de-cluttering really.
Got a few parcels to post so have got to pop to the post office now along with dropping DS off at work.
