Haven't done a to do list yet for this week. Might get around to it on Friday!
Had a rotten cold over the weekend and now have a sore throat and really wheezy  Ah well only 3 more days to go till Easter hols. Think I can hold on till then, God willing!
Did manage to cut OHs hair which was on my last to do list...
Going to go to bed now, for an earlyish night.

Ok not posted on here for ages and really need a good shake!!!!!
I've been spending like there's no tomorrow, not menu planning and basically running amok with my purse!!!! Why am I doing this?
It's like I deliberately jeopordise how well I'm doing.
Have gathered together all my shopping receipts that I've stuffed in various drawers and there are loads! Going to add up from my online banking what I've spent in Tescos and Asda etc but have no idea what I've spent in cash, nevermind it'll give me a rough idea how often I use my card. We've been redecorating the bedroom so spent a bit on here though OH bought the paper, paint etc. I want a wooden floor putting down in there and I bet I could've bought that with the amount of c rap I've bought :o
But onwards and upwards...I've joined the declutter thread to get me motivated and I'm going to do a meal plan for next week. There I've said it now.
Will edit later when I've added up some of my spending. Not looking forward to that.
I was doing so well, I'm a numpty but at least I can get back on track without too much damage as long as these next couple of months I'm ultra careful.

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    I could b loody weep!!!!!!!
Added up from online banking just the shopping trips where I used my card and withdrawals going back to the 22nd March and it comes to.....
£776.02p from shopping trips and £240 withdrawals.
    Total £1016.02p
This doesn't include my charity direct debits and savings plan nor where I've gone shopping and paid cash!!!!!!!
And that's not all...also bought DS a laptop that cost £379.00 and I haven't even added that on to my totals. OH is giving me half of that...OMG I've just remembered, I took £100 out of his account yesterday for this and before I could even get to the bank I've almost spent it. I bought a couple of new tops yesterday because I went out last night and couldn't choose which one, they were both nice and a few bits and bobs. I only had 4 diet cokes last night as well, was driving so can't even say I spent it on my night out. Today I did have around £30 of it left so to be fair spent around £70 of it.
Seriously I really do need a good shake up. I just can't believe it, well I can really.
I would never ever have thought I'd spent that much on popping out to the shops. Thank crikey I decided to grab the bull by the horns, not that I would, being vegan and that would be cruel, probably to me actually, but I am so glad I did it before it got too out of hand. I've tried to analyse why I do this when everything is going so well and I have come up with a couple of theories, which while insightful don't really help.
Okay this has helped a lot writing this down again. I did wonder about joining the grocery challenge but I can't face failing it at the moment and that isn't the right frame of mind to do it in.
Will do the decluttering and hopefully that might help to clear the obvious fog clouding my mind at the moment :(

So these little things add up.
Just been to pick DS up from his mates. Listening to Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, not relevant just setting the scene lol
Anyway on the way back DS says he's starving. I say Ooh sorry love I've not brought my purse only my phone I would have bought you something. DS not bothered anyway and says he'll get something when we get in and there it lies...me on the verge of spending again willy nilly when he made a perfectly good penne pasta meal when we got in and it wasn't even DS wanting me to buy him anything. I realised what I'd said after and thought that would have been a fiver spent easily on a quick takeaway.
It's this mind set that I need to be aware of and tackle it head on. If I hadn't had totted up previously, my spends I probably would have ran in the house, grabbed my purse and insisted he get a takeaway!!
Well small changes and all that, so I should be a little bit proud of myself.
I think I'll be posting a lot on here, and sorry if some of it's boring if anyone reads to the end, but it might just help me keep focussed, no it WILL keep me focussed :)

    Hello

Well done for realising things were getting out of hand. Its so easy to spend a "few" £ without thinking. Ive been spending on the shed trying to get a load of stuff out the house. I know I need to check the bank but "keep forgetting".

Wow! I started at page 1 and read a few pages then skipped to the end to see how well you had done.

Three years later and it seems there are still a few problems here!;)

Have you thought about joining the NSD gang (No Spend Days). It really focus' the mind on if you really need to buy that takeaway on the way home! They are a great bunch and are always there to lend support.

    I've included the link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=32366629&postcount=1

Well done for documenting everything. It takes guts to do this and I hope you get to your DFD soon. All the best.

Hi LfV...thanks for dropping by. Oh me and my money woes :)
Since joining MSE I have paid off credit cards and loans but in doing so just made the overdraft bigger. My latest attempt has seen me get back in the black in my bank account but now have started using the overdraft again, hence my reigning it all in before it gets unmanagable.
I've managed a 'couple' of NSDs in the past and think that's a really good idea. I did have a peep on that thread the other day, great minds think alike. Thanks for the support.

    To update my spending today...
£8.50 car boot (includes a pair of lovely pale blue candle holders for my shabby chic bedroom and some fitness dvds for me and DD)
Tesco £8.13. Was quite chuffed with this till OH reminded me I'd only gone in to get vegan margarine. Darn it!
    So total today is £16.73P
As for the declutter I got rid of 2 carrier bags of stuff (this was just from one drawer) One bag is to shred and the other was highlighter pens, boxes that I didn't need for camera and stuff like that. I had a bath and thought right I'm not going to go downstairs until I've decluttered one drawer. Took me about an hour and a half to sift through it all though. The other drawers I need to do have watercolour paints, pastels, brushes and paper etc from when I seemed to have time for a hobby. It's just there reminding me that I haven't got a life at the moment so must sift through that and just keep a little of it maybe.
Off to add my decluttering to the thread, going to try to add something to that everyday and just take those 'babysteps'
Will also try for a NSD this week, just one to see how I go ;)
    Luvz Dizzy x
Have also subscribed to the NSD thread and pledged 4 for this month so I don't feel too pressurised. Thanks LfV.

Anything worth carbooting or ebaying Dizzie? Ive told the girls that all their stuff either goes in their room, in the bin or in the car boot pile. Just need to get around to the car boot bit :)

You have done so well though clearing the cards etc so be proud of that.

    No quitters here!

I'm thinking of decluttering myself. I have loads of hotspots around the home which just pick up loads of carp. I run two under 5's groups and am voluntary secretary for the local community centre, as well working 3 days a week in the local children's centre nursery, so I just have paperwork absolutely everywhere .

I only joined MSE in March, after years of lurking. I don't have a debt problem, only a mortgage, and have always been lucky to have lived within my means, I have my parents to thank for that. I just need to be more organised with my life and make the most of the little money I have (20 hrs at minimum wage doesn't go very far, especially as DH is on incapacity benefit).

The best thing I have found about this site though is how friendly it is. Yay MSE!:T

Hiya KP I'm still doing some ebaying but it can be fits and starts. Still every little helps. I can empathise re: the kids rooms. Our DDs room is an absolute tip!! She'll start to tidy it then lose interest, then go back to it, then lose interest etc so it always stays in some sort of halfway house state with make up on virtually every available space. Oh to be 19 again...lol

Hya LfV Thanks for subscribing to my diary :) We have so many hotspots in this house! Corners of rooms, the dining table, the mantelpiece, to be fair quite a lot is mine lol slowly but surely getting through it. You're right MSE is a great place and really friendly and soooo helpful. Sounds like you're a very busy person LfV. Similar to me working with little ones...mentally tiring but fantastic job satisfaction. I think that's where I need to be LfV more organised. If I was I think everything else would fall into place more easily. It's hard though when you work as well as run a home. We have to count our blessings though don't we.

I thought I was going to be able to post a NSD today but got a portion of chips to share with DD whilst I took her to a friends but I did find £2.22 on the floor so they were kind of 'free'
On the way back called in at the co-op for loo rolls came out with 3 things I didn't go in for and forgot the loo rolls...arggggh

Off to finish food for DS and his girlfriend then I think I'll do a little ebaying. Then I need to declutter something...think I said it will be my paint drawer.
