Hi fiftyeighter, thank you and welcome to MSE. I'm sure I can say that from those as well that post on my diary, they're lovely!
To answer your question 'sig' is short for signature which you'll find at the bottom of folks posts. Mine is the one that says about my challenge and debt amount. If you do say, a grocery challenge for the month and pledge to spend £100 for the month you can go into 'edit signature' which is on the left side when you log on, click and then you can add your challenges. You can update them regularly too. Good for motivation. You can see some add challenges, clearing debts etc. Hope that's clear, I tend to write an essay when 3 sentences will do!
Good luck with the challenges, they can be really fun and keep you going. Not sure if my diary is inspirational, just a bit barmy more than anything, GR and Keeping Motivated who post the most on my diary, now their diaries are inspirational!
If you don't pay interest on your catalogue then that's good, pay off quicker where you pay the most interest...click on Forums at the top of the site page then Banking Saving and there is a budget planner which may help you.
Hope you enjoy being a part of MSE and you can always start your own diary which would be a real help. I sometimes just post when I want a good moan about something too, it does help.

Wanted to add if you post on a thread, that thread will show up when you click on 'user cp' which is at the top of the page when you log on, if you read a thread which you don't want to post on it but want to keep reading then click on 'thread tools' found above the thread you're reading, click on it, and then click on subscribe to this thread, then click on 'add subscription,' when that comes up. What that means is everytime someone posts on that thread it will be there for you to read in your 'user cp.' Hope that's clear. If there's anything else you need to know just ask and I'll try to help. That's why we're all here.Official DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -
Have to add it's now 1.18am and I have listed 20 items on ebay and still have a linen basket full of stuff to do, but that's it for tonight.

Go girl. I've got 42 items listed at the moment, most of them are belonging to J's mother so I'm hoping I can make a nice little sum for her. I really need to get my front room back (how long have I been saying that?).
It's great going into a new year isn't it Diz? We're all so full of plans that we know won't last but we set with good intentions
Good luck with the e-bay, keep us posted on your progress.

Wow how many items! Id better pull my sock up. I keep thinking its not worth it for the odd £1 but I guess it all adds up. GR are you going to update your sig?
Welcome to the board fiftyeighter and well done on being practically debt free.:j0 -
Hello peeps...Happy New Year if I haven't already said.
I'm trying to muster up some enthusiasm but failing miserably. Got 51 items on ebay listed and want to put at least another 5 on tonight.
Been to asda and spent £52.49p hoping to keep spending at a minimum for the rest of the week.
I must admit we've eaten out lots this holiday, and had take-aways, well not me mainly, hard to do for a vegan, but it's time to knuckle back down now. Still need to take the Christmas decorations down yet, but I've delegated OH for that job. I hate doing it, mind you I'm not that keen on putting them up either. Had to go to B&Q earlier too as the shower switch wouldn't work but OH bought a new one and sorted it out.
Will take a couple of photos now and add those ebay items.
Luvz to all.

Good luck with ebay Dizzy
Is it worth it for lots of 99p type items? I have kids clothes, toys and bots that need a new home but not sure if the listing time and the fees will make it worth it. Could do with the car boot season starting really.:j0 -
Hi KP
Even if you sell at 99p if you do it as an auction rather than buy it now, this will keep the fees you pay at a minimum and make sure you add the cost of your packaging, and the time and effort for posting, so even if you clear 50p - 70p profit a few items will add up quickly. Depending on what I'm selling I sometimes put on a higher price and if it's had a lot of views but no takers then I'll relist and just lower the price. Also KP don't forget to go on advanced search and then completed listings to see if what you're selling has sold and at what price. Gives you a good idea what to price yours at.
After doing ebay and car boots I definately get more for my things on ebay.

Just had to change Virgin amount as forgot to add on the charge for transfer. No payment due yet but I can't wait to start seeing this come down.
Have now got 54 items selling on ebay and need to add another 1 or 2 tonight and then that's it. If they don't sell I will relist most at 99p auction. A few are ending tonight.
Work was ok today too, everyone just getting back into the swing of it.
Had a fluttering of snow last night too which looked really pretty. Would have been lovely if it had done that on Christmas Day.
Spent the grand total of 52p on posting an ebay parcel today, and that's all. Practically a no spend day!
GDs birthday next week and from the children I've bought a lovely set of baby animal books. I'm going to crochet a bag to put them in and she can keep her favourite books in it. OH can buy the main present. All part of my being very careful with money. DD made tea tonight which was really nice. She made us all sit at the table, lit candles and it was such a nice change. I confess to us eating at the coffee table in front of the tv. usually.
Nothing else much to add, just hope some ebay stuff goes. Bit mad with valued opinions, started a survey for about 10 minutes then it screened me out...seems to be doing that a few times recently.
Hope everyone is well and having a good day/evening.

I get annoyed at VO as well a lot of the time I cant be bothered because I know Ill get screened out. Dinner sounds lovely Diz cant wait till the kids can cook something for us. So far DD1 can do Angel Delight and toast.:j0

Aw bless KP, angel delight and toast sounds good to me. In fact just had a slice of jam and toast.
I'm bored, bored, bored!!!! Spent money on bits and bobs, ebay slow and just feeling pretty fed-up.
Is it the weather? Can't get up in the mornings but I don't want to go to bed at nightThink I'll go and have a hot bath then jump into bed with my hot water bottle, if I can be bothered.
Had a couple of glasses of tia maria too...naughty on a school night. Ooh do you know that feeling when you just think 'what is the point'. Well that's what I feel like. I've got things I want/need to do but just can't get motivated.
Anyway, I've groaned enough now.
Hope everyone else is okay.
