Don't feel too bad about the spends Diz. You've done so well lately and if it doesn't affect the money your paying off the debt then that's not too bad. Can't wait to see what your totals will be at the end of the week when you pay off the extra money off the debts.
You've had a little treat now, so lets hope that as you feel so bad about it, you'll cut back over the next few weeks to compensate.
I'm trying to stay in today so I don't spend any money. Normally on a Saturday we go to the takeaway for lunch but what with daughter in plaster it's difficult to dress her, so I've decided it's going to be toasted sandwiches all round.
I know you can get shot of this debt over the next few weeks, I've got so much faith in you, don't feel too badly just focus from now on in.
Love GR x0 -
Aw thanks GR for those encouraging words.:D
How did your day go...I love toasted sandwiches especially beans and tomato...hope your daughter is feeling better too.
I'm going to have to take a leaf out of your book and try to stay focussed
Nice surprise when I got Debt 1 statement, I hadn't knocked off last payments figure as I'm never too sure till it comes due to interest charges, have added figure now. Though will only be that till wednesday...
Last night was brilliant, I haven't enjoyed a night like that for donkeys...it was in the club were Peter Kays Phoenix Nights was filmed. The chap whose birthday it was did some singing, playing guitar, he'd also hired a band and there was a dj earlier on. Even got OH to dance...twice...and I haven't been able to do that for years, mind you his dancing leaves a lot to be desired :rotfl:
So I'm back at work tomorrow, feel lots better, just throat slightly sore but can cope with that.
Can't wait too GR to get to the bank on wednesday. I will have paid half my debt from 8th January 08 to 23rd January 08 due to being able to pay 2 lots. Then just 2 lots more...hmmm got in between paydays to go too though...looks like we might be having a few meals on toast...:D

God your so organised. I try very hard to make a meal plan but it never seems to work for me. I've got so much frozen food and jars left over from Christmas I've really go to get it cleared. Will make an effort to cook something every night this week from the Christmas stockpile.
Glad you had a good night out, it does you good sometimes to have a real fun night. I've not had one in ages!!!! Never feel like going out this time of year, it's too cold and wet.
Keep going girl

Meal planning sounds great but not something I think I could do. It all depends how tired I am and/or how late from work. I could be home at 4 or gone 6. Shopping bill has come down alot which is the main thing. Its better than my lunch costs!!! I rarely know what we're going to have until I go to start cooking.
Did try to plan a roast today with pork loin steaks, roast potatoes and parships but too late now so will do tomorrow now.
Dizzy Lizzie - excellent news on your debt free target 50% in one month. It wont be long before you graduate.:j0 -
Cheers Wendy...:D
Oh I wish you would try the meal planning. Honestly it takes about 5 minutes and then your shopping for the week is centred around your menu. Your shopping would come down even more!! When I need extra bread etc as I said, we just pop to the corner shop.
Why don't you ask for suggestions for meals from your family, then you're not racking your brains. Know what you mean about being tired though, the benefit of meal planning is that when you do get home you know exactly what you're going to have. I hate that standing in the kitchen and thinking 'what can I make'. How about a slow cooker and preparing it all the night before, switch on in the morning and by the time you get home your meals ready for you. Loads of slow cooker recipes if you google and on here too.
Good Luck, and I hope you do try the weekly menu...you won't go back once tried...:D

Ok, now I'm going to hold you to this GR...:D
Post your menu on your diary...I always think once posted it helps as an incentive to stick to it...
Good luck and think how much money you'll save if you use up your stockpile.
More towards the ISA target

Ill give it a go before my next shop on Sat. The family is hopeless when it comes to what they want. Unually something very unhealthy or expensive from the kids ie chip shop chips or pizza and lucky to get more than a" whatever you want honey" from the other half. I guess if I plan a week and maybe swap the odd night it might work.
Got a slow cooker (two weeks ago and used once) just need to learn more recipes other than chicken casserole. Looking for a basic beef stew receipe.
Need to get off my a**e and get going really!:j0 -
Hey Wendy I am so pleased you're going to try this.
Good luck and let us know how you get on...:D

Well changed my sig and now half way there to paying off debts.
For some reason miscalculated debt 2 though and it should have worked out at £140 a month not £125, can't figure where I went wrong though. Nevermind...still on track, new totals are approx. I have added in the interest so should be around this. Paid £536 off the debts today and it did feel good. Not as over the moon as I should be though as guess what..on antibiotics again with another chest infection. Winter is always a bad time for me having asthma...OH went and bought loads of dark green leafy veg and he says I have to eat more of these. That's ok I like veg but must admit sometimes I just grab a slice of toast for myself.
Also Dr gave me iron tablets as although blood tests were fine she did say on rechecking that it was on the low side, but only taking one a day and supplementing with veg.
I am sooo tired too. I'll just drift off and really strange thoughts cross my mind...like hallucinating but not quite?????
Ah well...I can't do anything about it except eat well and just rest.
Hope everyone else is ok and keeping on track.
Luv and quick hug (don't want to pass my virus on)
