  • Thought I'd better catch up here, just been feeling a bit tired. Throats getting better so glad about that.
Had a bit of a scrape with the car. We park the car on the drive in the back garden and we have an electric shutter. Drove up the drive last night and halfway up the drive I clicked the shutter to come down...but I stalled the car and the shutters still coming down...couldn't grab the clicker to stop it and it landed on the back of the car...bloody great big metal shutter. Luckily we have one of those tail things, I don't know what they're called on the car and that took the brunt of it, so just some scrapes. If I'd been any further up it would have gone through the back window. I'm a numpty.:o
Moneywise all ok and I've only bought essentials. Just put on a veg chilli for tomorrow tea as I know I won't be bothered to do it tomorrow. So, not feeling ecstatic about things, think it's just me getting back into the swing of being back at work and it's cold and I'm a summer person. Mind you who isn't. Been good and taking my dinner into work, so at least I'm eating something decent.
Just found out that the 'moody blues' are touring again later in the year. Tickets are £32.50 each. I definately want to go but OH not a big fan. I said 'If you don't come with me I've no one to go with' (friends not fans either)
'Thanks for that' he said. Hmmm not very diplomatic of me :D He will come though but would rather go with someone who'll appreciate them. I keep thinking now though £65 a lot of money because I'll probably have to get tickets soon in case they sell out and of course concert tickets are not in the budget. Decisions, decisions.
We break up from school next thursday for a week so looking forward to that, will probably do a de- clutter in the kitchen. Well in theory :D
Hope everyone is okay. Keep well.

  • Bad luck with the car I guess the good side is it could have been worse.

Have you been passing bugs about? Cause I havent got a sore throat but a stuffy sneezing nose and a general clogged up feeling!

If you really like the 'moody blues' and can stretch the budget I would go for it. Everyone still needs the odd treat.

Trying the meal planning its more successful than the lunches. Not sure if I saved this week as I spent £70 and have been closer to £60 for the previous couple of weeks. Might be where Ive been holding back on buying stuff. Will keep going as its nice to know I do have enough food without over stocking and also an idea of what to cook when I get in.

Really pleased you've been trying the meal planning. At least you've not been stuck for making meals so that's a bonus.
Sorry to hear you're not well. Maybe you caught the virus from your computer...computer virus lol.
It's the rotten weather we've been having I think and down to winter. Oh well spring is round the corner at least.
I would love to go the concert but will seriously think about it. They were touring a couple of years ago in England, they tour a lot abroad, I found out at the last moment and regretted not going so maybe I should just do it.
Nice to hear from you and hope you're feeling better soon.

Well not updated for a couple of days. Overdraft is over what I'd budgeted for but to be honest until I got into this week I wasn't really sure how I'd do. I'm still happy with how everything is going though obviously would have liked not to have spent as much. Going to allow overdraft up to £1.150 for this month...considering I think maybe I'd been looking at £1.040. lol. Ah well. Still well under by a few hundred than what I normally am before I even started this challenge so not too bad. Really tired still and was in bed on thursday I think it was, at quarter to eight! Been for a drive out today and fell asleep coming home in the car...I wasn't driving of course.
I've always thought that we should hibernate at this time of year and just peep out when spring arrives, bliss.
Decided to do a bit of a de-clutter in my bedroom. Started it yesterday at 4pm and stopped around 10pm. Did my wardrobe and 2 drawers in this time. It's a start I suppose.
Sunday's meal is cooking now, 'gypsy potatoes' but with a crust, carrots and petit pois.
Think it'll be an early night for me again.
    Hope everyone's okay.

Hi there Diz, sorry your still not feeling 100%, this time of year it taks twice as long to get over things. I quite like your hibernating idea, could cope with that myself.

It's not the end of the world about the OD, your debt totals are coming down nicely and just think how much they'll drop again with your next payment. Once they are cleared you can then concentrate on the OD. All is looking really well for you.

    Bid hugs GR x
  • Hello GR...thanks hun,
definately hibernating is the way to go :D
Thinking about going to bed now...might have a peep around the site then off I go. Have put some of todays dinner in a dish and will be taking that to work tomorrow. It was delicious.
    Take care everyone.

Well was a bit naughty at lunch time today. Called at the co op for a paper and bought a £1 instants card. A valentines one and won £50!!!!!!! Not told anyone at home yet as they'll all make a claim on it so just going to use it instead of taking money from the bank. Should maybe treat myself with it but to be honest I can treat myself when I'm debt free.
Just going to chill out tonight, get my jim-jams on and keep warm.
    Tea tonight;
Pizza and garlic bread for two. DD and friend.
Spicy bean burger, petit pois and chips for one.
    Pasta and sauce for two.
No idea what I'm having...not feeling that hungry at the moment.
Changed my sig. and haven't got room to cross the payments off as I go along so just having to change to the new total. Looks ok though.
At least the weather wasn't too bad today.
Hope everyone else is doing okay.

    Hiya Wendy Thanks...how are you?
Yeh I could do that, but aside from some vegan chocolate which I have to order...there's only so much of green and blacks dark chocolate I can eat...I can't really think of anything. I'm sure I will though if I give it some thought :D
