    Hello Seaxwyn, hello GR
I did work out my weeks menu today Seaxwyn and drew my shopping list from that, was easy too :D Why haven't I been doing this every week...oh I know it's called 'being too lazy' lol.
Thanks you guys for the support.:A
I did think GR about just sorting out Debt 2 first, that's got the highest apr. but to be honest if I can do them both by April I will be sooooo happy, so I'm going for it.
As long as nothing major financially happens I should be able to do it....

Well had a fairly good day.
Spent £2 on a loaf and a paper. Went for a lovely afternoon walk by the canal with OH and Tillie (doggie). Came back and made sunday dinner of C & O pie, roasters, brocolli, sweetcorn, yorkshire puds and gravy. Had made myself a veg. pie. And all on my menu...:D
Back at work tomorrow, will take sandwich, crisp, fruit and cordial. Also a book to read instead of buying a paper. Usually I would buy a muffin, about 70p but only have lettuce, onion and tomato on, crisp, a carton of juice and a paper, probably totals around £2.30x5=£11.50p x a month= £46.00p for virtually nothing!!! I've bought smart price helicopter (plain) lol crisp and for a bag of 12 it doesn't cost much more than one bag of decent ones, but I do like them, and I'm taking my own juice in a bottle and probably a peanut butter sandwich. Checked my bank and even with paying £125 out I'm still in front than I was this time last month!!! :D Feeling really pleased and positive about it all. I really believe that my true light bulb moment wasn't until yesterday at 3.15am 5th January 2008 :D
Anyway it's early days so I hope I can keep this up. Better remember to defrost my muffin for work :D

    Hi Wendy
Sometimes it's making the effort to actually sit down, plan your lunches and buying it in. As I've challenged myself to paying off £1300 in four months I have really got to stick to this. Every little bit makes a difference, the thing is I was looking at the bigger picture and that was it 'just looking' with half hearted attempts, now I am concentrating on the here and now which obviously will get me to my goal (iyswim) :D
Have a go at doing the lunches and tot up how much you'll save. Go on, you know you want to...:D

  • I tend to be in a rush in the morning and even if the kids get lunch I dont and forget to eat breakfast!

Ill give it a go this week to remember to eat breakfast and take some lunch in and report back on Friday.

Cost wise I was good last week but only because I didnt eat anything other than a chocolate bar out the vending machine each day so ok for purse but very bad for health/dress size.

Hi Wendy. I get my lunch ready the night before so in the morning all I have to do is throw it in my lunch bag. I definately wouldn't have time to make it in the morning :D
Do you do pigsback too. I only joined about a year ago and have had two £10 boots vouchers and enough for another £10 voucher. I also joined Cedric brain juicer and valued opinions. They're survey sites and when you reach £5 you can exchange then for amazon vouchers. I have saved over £30 in these. Quite interesting to do too. It all help doesn't it?
Hope you do well this week with lunches.:D

Well today went okay. Just bought a loaf and some potatoes. £2.05p
Took the £200 out to pay towards Debt 2 today but I'm a bit concerned about paying it in the bank without the statement. So when the statement for the next payment comes, due probably in a couple of weeks, I will add this £200 and Februarys £200 together and send £400, well I pay it in at the bank so the cashier can stamp my half. I do have the bottom half of a statement/payment slip from when I paid one month over the phone but the top half is obviously a past date. Anyway this makes better sense to me, and at least the payment in February will get added on as one lump sum rather than sending one now and another later...I'm waffling now aren't I?
Still feeling good about it all. Can't believe I took that money out today, counted it and thought how I couldn't wait to pay it off my loan...felt really good.Normally I feel miffed at paying just over the minimum. Just the realisation that until these are paid off, none of the money is mine whilst I'm using my overdraft to pay them. The best thing is that when Debt 1 & 2 are paid off my overdraft will/should be gone too or as near it. I'm going to get really boring about all this I can tell...:D
