Is there a reason why you ignored post #5?
  • Sorry i didn't mean offend you. I had already done both of those before and all was ok, I should of said that.

You didn't follow the instruction, so you just assumed that you had done them all before.
In fact, you had done only done half of them. There were four tasks. :)

I would have completed those first(with the subsequent disables and de-installs) and then moved to HijackThis to deal with any 'leftovers'.
  • Now i have been told off!

    :D

So, you can do it now, to make up for your transgression. That way we can see if you have de-installed the unnecessary software and disabled unnecessary start-up items. ;)

After you've finished his steps in post #5, I would still look at task manager to see what is using the memory as per post #6.

You can bring this up by holding CTRL SHIFT ESCAPE; then press 'Show Processes from all users', press 'Yes' if UAC prompts you for permission, then look for the column 'Working Set (memory)' and click it. Write down anything larger than 100,000 K.

Also click on the 'Performance' tab, and write down the Commit (MB) xxxx / xxxx figures.
