i would issue a court proceedings, had the dealer complied the car would have been in his possetion and your money would have returned in full, because the dealer messed about, it was subsequently damaged, by no fault of your own i would compile a case and seek more through the courts. even though he has settled now your still out of pocket and entitled to claim back loss of earning transport and insurance costs of cancellation or vehicle transfure.0

I wish I had thought that before! The matter has been settled down with a cheque and the written agreement that I would not pursue the company for any reason related to the car.
I am not sure it is possible to do anything more at this stage. Also, there would be more hassle to get into small claims court as to open a case it is necessary to show that no other way to sort the matter (prior to appealing to the court) has proved successful. then there's the court fee (should be a £100 quids) and given the current situation I am not sure there might be any chance to win. Especially cause I signed that paper.
I don't really get the attitude of trading standards: from one point they should try and resolve the issue quickly and with less hassle for anybody. but from another point of view they should at least say that there was that option available..0
