not really, Trading standards cant intervene, its Staples policy, managed, run and goverened by Staples.

if they want, they can withdraw, cancel and amend without prior notice.

besides, they dont really openly advertise it, its mostly on the back of the receipts, and its more a customer service thing rather than we WILL beat any price, tis the same for all retailers, they all reserve the right to price match what they want, if staples had done the price at £149 bet your !!!! Tesco wouldn't have price matched them.

I think it's also important to note that the price-matched item must be in stock! Tesco reduced the ones they had left for clearance, and they were all gone in a matter of hours. i don't think you can really expect Staples to continue to price-match a clearance item for days after its sold out.

I went into my local staples on monday all excited and armed with staples receipt printed off.
They had them in stock so i asked re price match, manager said info was missing from front of receipt and i would need proof that tescos were selling them for £149. As on tescos web they were showing as £299 and that they could price match to £299

So off to tescos and ask very nice sa for help, she kindly let me take a pic of the computer and gave me direct line so staples could call to verify this, so back excitedly to staples showed manager new info, no sorry can not price match i have spoken to my manager and its a massive loss on the product so can not be done.

Come home all deflated as missed hp touchpad and now this, to add to it my laptop is out of use for the next 5 weeks due to needing a replacment battery as mine was defective and there is not any in the country, but thats another story. (Violin's at ready please) If anyone is touched by my sob story albeit true feel free to send me a hp touchpad,samsung galaxy tab or any other tab :0)

Phoned staples head office to ask about how price matching worked, as soon as i got through they knew it was about the sga, must have received lots of calls, and said it had been refered to buying team for a decision i asked for a call back when one had been madecand in fairness i did recive a call back even though it was only to say computer says no, apparently as already stated needs to be instock ect ect.

Oh well worth a shot just thought i would post my experience to help others like me that are running about like loons trying to bag a bargin touchpad.

Just wondering why people aren't buying the Dell one? OH got me one yesterday and I am really pleased with it - has some areas higher spec than the Samsung too. SA in Tesco said they are also selling fast but obviously not as fast as the Galaxy.

Has anyone seen any of the Dell 7 Streak in stock in the East Lancs area?? I got one earlier in the week from Tesco Burnley but now they are out of stock and I desperately need another

Has anybody had any luck with Tesco Hanley or Longton.
They have removed the dell streak from display as they have discontinued those but the galaxy is still on display with no SEL but they don't have any in stock.
