Hi Guys
Hopefully I'm on the right forum.
I need some advice.
I sent a parcel with iPostparcels.com for a next day service to our client. Who needed it for an event the following day.
The parcel didn't arrive on the following day. (It arrived 2 days later). iPost said this was due to an "Input Error" at their depot.
Of course I had to refund my client £180 due to this late delivery.
Where do I stand on getting recompence from iPost??
As it stands they're hiding behind their T&C's even though they broke the contract by delivering late. They offered me a £6.00 refund!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -

So my paid for expedited postage from the USA to Cheshire, UK has failed to have been delivered on time.
It seems a bit of a stretch to blame the company in the USA as they shipped TO UPS on time. UPS have failed to keep their side of the bargain.
Should I pursue a claim??0 -

Well for starters you need to define your claim?
Are you claiming for it being late? Was the postage service guaranteed?
Did the company give a delivery date?0 -
yes, it was guaranteed delivery today, between 7.30am and 8.pm.
Frustratingly, I attempted to sign up to the UPS text/email service reminders to give me a window as to when my parcel would arrive, however, in order to verify my address, they want to send me a form in the mail I have to fill in and return! !!!!!!???? So any sort of update is out of the question. Now, I have been off all day waiting for this but am back at work tomorrow so am going to have to take another day off as this is an important package which is why I paid $70 for quick delivery. Seems to be anything but...... Its still out for delivery according to the website but I doubt very much it is going to arrive today. UPS are bloody hopeless.... Especially since I am going to have to pay handling charges for the item.0 -
So, after mailing the company in the USA about the late delivery, they have done nothing about it. So, I mailed UPS, had a response saying the company in the USA need to raise the claim. So I am back to where I started. I have emailed UPS saying I cant force them to raise the complaint but that when the parcel arrived in the UK, then UPS were responsible for the stated delivery time, and they failed. Do I have a case or what here folks?!?!?0

If that's the case, then UPS owe you nothing.
If 'the company in the USA' can't be bothered to claim from UPS, the there is probably nothing you can do about it.
You said earlier "It seems a bit of a stretch to blame the company in the USA as they shipped TO UPS on time".
I don't agree. 'The company in the USA' are responsible for the action or inaction of their shipping agent.
Where does the tracking information show the package now? Neither the carrier nor 'the company in the USA' can be held responsible for a hold up in customs, for example.0 -
Hi, Just got a question regarding the online company 'Reglaze my Glasses'
On their terms & conditions they state that they will not be responsible for any items/goods lost in the post sent by them (unless you opt for the Royal Mail special deliver service)
They further state various postage option available recommending Special Delivery incase royal mail lose or fail to deliver your item
Does this go against our consumer rights (unfair contract terms & conditions).0 -
Looks to me like the contract with the carrier is with 'the company in the USA'.

The package was delivered the Day after what was stated on the UPS tracking website, i also had it confirmed to me by phone, as i phoned up and asked if i could collect the parcel.
I have contacted UPS now on two seperate occasions to complain, both times i have had the "sorry, not our fault, not guaranteed etc etc". So short of legal action it seems there is nothing i can do... Very very annoying as all i did was pay for the item and the shipping. Next time i have a "choose your courier" option, UPS will be at the bottom of the list....
