I jjust phoned orange to upgrade or get my PAC code depending on what they had to offer.
I wanted an iPhone 5 and quoted them the deal with tesco £30 per month for 24 months plus £100 up front. For that you get 750 minutes, 5000 texts and 1gb data. This comes to £820 and I could also get £30 cash back with quidco bringing it down to £790.
I don't actually need all that so after a chat the guy offered me 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb for £28.76 per month plus £99.99 matching the £790 give or take a few pence. I know this is less than tesco are offering but it is more than I need so I am very happy. There is nothing close on their website. The guy said their Internet speed is faster than tesco but don't know if that's true or not.
Hope this helps someone.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
I was in my local Tesco Extra today (Edinburgh) and they had a similar deal to the one we were all after just before Christmas.
iphone 4s 16gb, black or white, 750 mins, 5000 txts, 1gb Data. £100 for the phone, then £20 a month, 24 month contract, on Tesco network. Still competitive I reckon, took one anyway! £580 all-in and a decent amount of mins and data.
It's not available on their website, today anyway.
They also offered me that iphone 5 deal, all as above except £30 a month i.e. an extra £240 over the 2 years. Also on Tesco network.

The day after I bought my phone I noticed the Tesco website had changed, and I could get a 64gb 4s for the same price, same deal, so returned the 16gb in-store and bought new one online instead.
Keeping an eye on the website as I log in there anyway to check useage etc, and it's amazing how frequently the offers change.Feb 2008, 20year lifetime tracker with "Sproggit and Sylvester"... 0.14% + base for 2 years, then 0.99% + base for life of mortgage...base was 5.5% in 2008...but not for long. There's a new offer to get a bargain iPhone 5 - these are refurb iPhones BUT you might find they're actually cheaper than the existing contract.
The deal is:
O2 Network
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited texts
1Gb data allowance
24 month contract
£27 a month
Now, the handset comes with a £50 fee BUT if you use the discount code USWITCHREF5 this gives you the handset free of charge! So in other words, you get the whole lot for £648. That sounds a lot but if you consider the same deal on a sim-only contract is about £13 a month (£312 over 24 months) and the phone is £430, you're actually saving around £100 over the two years. This is from e2Save which I think is a Carphone Warehouse offshoot.
This offer came in the uSwitch e-shot yesterday.

They will also sign you up to a Geek Squad thing that's free for the first month, so don't forget to cancel this.0 -
My current mobile contract is coming to an end and I decided I wanted a 32GB iPhone 5 this time. I've seen a deal on the MSE website that links through to mobiles.co.uk which I'm interested in, and another to mobilephonesdirect.co.uk.
However, when I contacted 3, my current provider, to cancel my contract and get a PAC code, they went on and on (and on!) about how the new network (either O2 or T-mobile) would put the monthly price of £27 up after a couple of months.
Has anyone experienced this before? I must say, the deal does seem a little bit too good to be true (£185 upfront, £27/month for 24 months, unlimited minutes and texts, 1GB data) but I don't want to stay with 3 out of fear, especially when I have no idea whether what they are telling me is true or not.
Would be really grateful for any feedback!0 -

I was on O2 for many years and that never happened to me, now on Tesco and have kids that been on Tesco for a few years and that never happened to them either.
I don't think your deal sounds too good to be true BTW. As I mentioned earlier up thread, by checking tesco mobile.co.uk and popping into my local tesco extra that has a big mobile phone section, i have been surprised how their contacts for 4s's and 5's fluctuate wildly week to week. Others probably do likewise. Suspect desperate measures by 3 to try keep a hold of you for another 2 years...;)Feb 2008, 20year lifetime tracker with "Sproggit and Sylvester"... 0.14% + base for 2 years, then 0.99% + base for life of mortgage...base was 5.5% in 2008...but not for long. Any help from regular i phone buyers please. Daughter wants one for her birthday, ( currently with Virgin) She would like a 4s, needs unlimited texts, calls aren't such a worry, and internet usage ( tink she would use i message a lot, don't know what that comes under!) Can spend £100 cash up front ( possibly a little bit more) and don't really want to spend more than £20 a month. Is that possible?0

That said, how old is your daughter? Are you sure that you want to give her a phone on a contract with potentially unlimited credit? If not, this will seriously limit your choice of contracts.0 -
She's 16, and has managed well on her samsung galaxy for 2 years, without ever going over her credit limit. It's not my choice particularly, but it will be her present. She will only get it though if it's a viable price.0
