Hi,
After some advice folks. I have an iphone 4s on contract with three........it was originally the contract from iphone 4 which husband now uses.......sorry am waffling.
Right.......contract ended.
I will want the iphone 5 when it eventually comes out (unless its the same as the iphone 4s)
Do I keep my current contract running ?
Change to sim only with three ?
Will this make any difference to getting the iphone 5 when its out ? Three were the best deal at the time I got the others.
I am loathed to ring three without knowing exactly what I want.......the customer service drives me bonkers.......I am always in fear of coming off the phone having been talked into buying a car that runs on fresh air or a money tree for the garden :rotfl:
Sorry to say this but Apple love people like you, started on a 4 before moving to a 4S and now wanting a 5.
So the contract lock-in period has ended/coming to an end, you could switch to a Sim-only deal with 3 until the latest brand-new model comes out with it's all-so-shiny brand new features which other phones has had for a while (which will mean apple will sue the makers for breach of patent, after-all it doesn't exist until Apple makes it)0 -
Thank you for the advice.
I agree completely I am brainwashed when in comes to the iphone...........and am really hoping Santa leaves me an iPad too this year.0 -
I am planning to buy an 4s later this month when the new 5 comes out, in the hope that 02 will reduce the price of the 4s - does anyone out there know if the reduction will be significant, either just the handset or say 18 month package? Just wondering what has happened on previous occasions when new i phone models have been introduced. Thanks!0

Continuing from the early post of getting contract package for the 4s - I popped into vodafone to transfer my contacts and the manager asked me if I or anyone I knew worked for a list of companies they had on there list (there was loads on the list)
I did so all I needed to do was get there employee number and email so my friend could varify and that gives me a further 20% reduction on my monthly contract - taking the white 4s with 3000mins etc etc from 36 to 28.80 per month
Something to do with vodafone company participation scheme - its if any friends or family work for the companies in the list0 -
interesting tips; i tried to negotiate with Vodafone where we have four individual contracts for the family but they won't play ball - I'm trying to get my duaghter an iphone 4 for her birthday but her contract has over a year to run and they are asking us to pay that off - should I negotiate harder (our four contracts cost an average of £180 per month in actual charges) or bite the bullet and buy an iphone outright and use her SIM for the remainder of the contract?
Or...should I go back to the shop and ask about the list of companies to get the friends & family discount off the existing contract?
Phew! I'm exhausted trying to figure all this out...0 -

The NHS are on this list, you get 20% off for a contract over £20per month and 10% below £20. It has to be registered within 30days of the new 'contract' being set up. The named person can have up to 5 numbers with discounts. It has to be the work email address that is given to vodafone. Hope this helps someone.0 -
I'm feeling a little confused and wonder if I am being extremely obtuse, which I suspect may be the case. I see that apple are selling the iphone 4 8GB for £319 including free delivery. Yet, I've seen the same model as far as I can see, for quite a bit more from other outlets. Am I missing something here?0

You have no chance, no network is going to throw away 12 months of a contract for what is peanuts to them (£180 a month wouldn't even put you as a medium spender), the fact it is 4 individual contracts weakens your position even more, you aren't a £180 a month customer, you personally are an average £45 a month customer. Add a 0 on the end and maybe they would give the line an early upgrade.
Bite the bullet, buy the phone sim free, an iPhone 4 is only £329 from Apple, or buy second hand if you feel that's too much. I just sold a mint iPhone 4 16GB for £220, boxed and would probably have passed for new. Look around, many iPhone 4 owners are selling after buying an iPhone 5, so the prices are falling, the options exist outside of just giving yourself stress fighting with Vodafone over something you aren't entitled to.====0 -
Just finished a 24 month contract on a standard phone. I called up 3 and asked about getting a cheap iPhone 4/4s contract. Said I was waiting for the prices to drop since the iPhone 5 came out (contracts are the same at the moment from before it was released). They put me on a 1 month rolling contract at £9.99pm (200 mins, 5000 texts, 250mb) while I wait for the prices to come down, was paying £21pm before that. So just to wait for the contract prices to fall a bit..0

Ok, so carphone warehouse have an offer on. It only applys to vodafone upgrades and new pay monthly contract. On the £42pcm contract if 16gb is out of stock they will give you a 32gb for the same price £29, on £37pcm contract the 32gb is £5 more expensive if 16gb is out of stock. I canceled my upgrade with vodafone today and went in to carphone warehouse, my new phone arrives tomorrow.:j0
