Falsely Banned: what can I do ?

Hi,
All i do is basically go to ASDA and have a look at the reduced items and wait till its gets reduced to a price i'm willing to pay for the items. They put a little label on the item ( which is tamper proof) saying its reduced and to what price. I have been accused of tampering with the labels but they only say they have 1 member of staff who "says" that they have seen me tampering with the labels, and will not produce there evidence when i asked them to do so.
i may know you might not believe this but if ASDA may ask, i am willing to do a lie detector test to prove otherwise. I have got item from ASDA that were reduced, and the labels show they have not been tarpapered with.
I am aware this happens at ASDA, as I have heard staff say that it has been going on but i've never seen someone doing it at all.
On this flimsy evidence they have banned me from the store. No time limit or anything else.
Is there anything, besides ringing the GSM ( general store manager) on Monday, that is legal to do in the mean time?
And what should I say to him?

You could e-mail their CEO
andy.clarke@asda.co.uk
If they had proof someone had tampered with a price label why wouldn't they go through their theft procedure
The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of companies will respond to you depending on the content and tone of your e-mail. So, here are some hints and tips which should help to get a satisfactory reply:- Be polite
- Keep the information concise and to the point
- Include customer reference numbers or invoice numbers, if applicable; Include a brief history of the issue, if applicable
- Do not accept being passed back to "Customer Services"
- Explain clearly what you want as a solution or outcome

Thanks, this sounds like good advice & I will act on this if I get nowhere on monday.
But the person in charge of the store tonight made if sound like they do not need to prove it to me to put a ban in place. They seem to take there staff members word for it without proof.
If the GSM does reverse the banon monday, apart from a letter in writing, should I ask for anything else ? good will gesture etc
I do not spend much money there anyway, I wondering if it is an easy way of losing non profit customers !!!!!0 -
find a nother store to shop inReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

Unlikely they could track who spends what, maybe he was having a bad day
I would settle for a letter which is an apology and reverses the ban
Letting them know at head office would also make him think about doing it again or to anyone else as they are likely to contact him about it0 -
I am not 100% sure but I think given that a store is private property then the owners (or in this case, the owners' representatives) have the right to refuse entry to anyone they wish. You don't actually have a legal right to shop in a particular store. So they don't have to prove anything in order to refuse you entry.
However, it's worth complaining to the head honchos in a reasonable and polite but firm fashion. It will boil down to whether they belive their staff were justified in banning you or whether they feel that the customer is always right, mm?
But then again, why would you want to go back? You'll never be able to so much as look at the reduced stuff again without ten pairs of eyes watching your every move. Get the ban lifted by all means but then shop with your feet and go elsewhere, that's my advice.Val.0 -
Ok thanks. I'll let you know how I get on.0

why not set up a picket outside the store.0

If these labels are tamper proof how could you have tampered with them. You definitely need to make a formal complaint to the GSM. You also have the right to see evidence to prove you have tampered with the labels.
However I agree with jamesspir and valk _ scott you should find another supermarket to shop in and take you custom elsewhere. I wouldn't continue to give them my custom if they treated me like that.
Good Luck

Thanks Val. I agree with you.
I have an asda CC card there petrol is the cheapest in the area.
There carpark is there land but I do belive it is public access.
I know some of the staff there & would like to see them.
I don't mind them watching, I'd even invite them. I have done nothing wrong. Why should I let them get away with treating people this way. I would sue them. But the cost.0 -
I often try and peel off the yellow label to see what the price used to be, and how much it has dropped by. It generally peels off the ink too so i can't tell lol. Would hate to be accused of tampering. Op, perhaps you should buy one of them joke moustaches with dark glasses lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
