maybe every other week ?. OS wise your still making tea/chutney etc
Oh you don't know how tempting it is! Every other week is I think what I'll do if I realise it's just not happening...then I can still do cleaning in between times.
Used to have the cleaner every week at the old house and I literally never cleaned a thing apart from the toilets and the kitchen surfaces. It was only when we moved that we realised our hoover didn't even work!0 -

Good evening all
Sorry been MIA a lot lately, been reading but not been in a good place for posting, however I feel a little more positive this evening so thought I'd do a quick post whist watching Strictly (Nancy was not very good at all and I half expected her to be very good)
Well since I last posted quite a lot has happened - I don't know if you remember the saga of my OH walking out earlier in the year and all the subsequent debt etc he left me with (sorry to new posters) well he had a stroke at the beginning of last week and I have been visiting him and trying to console my stepchildren (adults now but you always think of them as kids don't you) He is recovering now, although wont be able to work for quite a while to come I think. It has been a very upsetting time as he was in quite a bad way for a while and although he was a real b******d when he left, you can't stop caring what happens to them after all those years together. It did make me realise that my feelings for him have changed and I have finally moved on.
DD2 and her partner who moved in with me for a while after the break in, are just about to complete with their new house so will be moving out next week, I will really miss them but not the mess they make:D
I am going away on holiday next saturday to Majorca with a "friend" - I know I have not mentioned anything about it before but it was/is still quite casual (still find it very hard to trust anyone) and we only meet up once a week at the moment, which is fine for me just now. I am looking forward to spending the week away though.
Anyway hope you are enjoying the weather......I have washed everything in sight lol
Have a good saturday night all
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Hola
Nice to hear some of you are still enjoying the nice weather, we have a lovely breeze here, could do with it being a mph or 2 slower, but still making it very pleasant.
Daisyegg Welcome, and may I just ask where OH is fitting in with all the cleaning and cooking? Being OS is not doing everything yourself, if you are a SAHM then I can understand one person doing the majority, but if you are both working and earning then HW & Cooking/Shopping should be on a 50/50 basis. If OH isn't taking part - get the cleaner back PDQ.My DS has just moved into a flat with his GF, and as he likes cooking he does the majority of cooking, he arrives home first too. GF does with washing up, and at weekends, they share shopping, with him carrying, and he has the Bathroom and Kitchen, and she does the Lounge and Bedroom (1 bed flat). While sometimes she takes pity on him he also has to iron his own work shirts too.:D:D
I slept in this morning, so have had a steady day, trying to get back on the LC diet, think I managed it. Scrabbled Egg with Cheese for late breakfast, I think I might have missed lunch as breakfast was so late, and salad followed by half a large peach and Greek Yogurt. The eggs were the last of those I brought with me, and so was the Yogurt. :T
Tonight our dutch neighbours are coming round to play cards Skip-Bo, so I have cheese and meat with crackers for supper, I will do without the crackers:D
(((hugs)) all around, thinking of you ((Cranky)) this weekend. ((Lou))
Take care all - DG
p.s. NicLou - So pleased you have "moved on" and hope you have a lovely holiday. We will make that meet sometime Nov/Dec when life is not so manic.Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Evening all
Cranky and house elf - big hugs to you at this time of year x
Welcome daisiegg - I'd get the cleaner back myself, but I hate cleaning :rotfl:
Phew boiling here today!
I had a lovely massage, however the state of the room really let it down
there was dirt on the floor and the paint was peeling. I have emailed a complaint but won't hold my breath for a reply! Then met the girls for lunch and shopping, had a really nice time. I didn't meet my ex-colleagues in the end. it was too warm to spend the afternoon in the pub! Came home and ate ice cream whilst catching a tan on the balcony
.
How fab was Strictly? Poor Nancy, they were mean to score her less than Lulu. Harry or Jason to win I reckon. Me and the girls have just bought tickets for the Strictly tour in Feb :j:j.
Flatmate is constructing a Tangled cake for a client so probably won't be able to make tea for an hour, but I'm not that hungry yet.
Have a good night all

OH doesn't really do much around the house. He leaves for work at 6am every day and gets home about 7.30pm or 8, often with a bit of work to finish in the evening. Due to getting up at 5.30am every day we really have to be in bed by 10pm. He has a daughter from a previous relationship who lives in Manchester, while we live in the South East, and he has her every other weekend - so this means he is away in Manchester every other weekend (though she will be 16 next summer and looking for a Saturday job so the weekends will probably stop then). Although he is willing and wants to help, he just has no time. He does the garden on the weekends he is home and any DIY that needs doing and I really do do everything else.
I don't mind...he earns about ten times more than I do and works very hard for it and I want to give him a nice home and look after him. But don't want to completely wear myself out in the process hence possibly getting the cleaner back!
I did manage to get all of my to-do list done though! stopped at about 6pm and am now collapsed on the sofa. Really did everything though - cleaned house from top to bottom - cleaned oven (big job!) - emptied laundry basket - made HM bread and soup and red onion marmalade. Feel a huge sense of accomplishment now! (despite the agonising back ache...) Would kill for a glass of wine but OH is away in the US on business until next Saturday so I shouldn't really open a bottle just for me...or I'll drink it!0 -
DE - Get that bottle open now missus.....after what you have done today you deserve it
.
We're going to the seasiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidetomorrow, me and the kids

Hi all, hope everyones ok! Hester - felt a little sad reading your post although its happy now they are with your daughter! bless the poor little things, I completely agree with your contraversial statement, its cruelty to bring a innocent life into that! Had a car bill off over £500 today which was abit of a killer
but hey ho we will be ok if we are extremely careful which is alot easier now I have these boards
today I've had a very lazy day with little one, went to the library to pick some books, was quite dissapointed to see that they dont do dvds anymore, so we stuck on the incredibles which is little ones favourite atm. Did a load in the w/m had a general tidy up, wash up and have made a sweet/spicy rissotto with asparagus using store cupboard ingreds
Its our lovely nephews birthday party tomorow at a soft play centre, so little one is very excited for that
Now watching x factor and waiting for Hubby to get back from work so we can tuck into tea! hope everyone has had a lovely day xx

Nic sorry to hear about exs stroke. Glad he's recovering but even gladder you are moving on with your life. I suspect he will come to regret his decision xxx
Daisiegg you can afford it then have a cleaner. Just think of it as putting back into the economy
DS has really been doing my head inhe's just been hyper all afternoon and the noise has been endless
feel like a bad mummy but it's been unbearably hot here and house as usual ended up like a tip which I end up sorting out <rolls eyes> just couldn't cope with it all today
