HELP!!! Phone used 5.58 GB in 16 Hours!!

Have looked for ages on the web for phone number and an address. The only phone number I have found is for the 02 switchboard that isn't open till monday. Any address is for an 02 building in slough. Have even emailed 02 and they have no number for them. The agent that i email just gave me is the one i have been using.

Any other advice?

You mentioned giff gaff now you mention O2, O2 CS is available until at least 2000hrs today , dial 202 from your handset.

im with giffgaff but they run on the 02 network. Was worth a try!

I have no idea how this could of happened, I dont even remember using the internet at that time. My usual usage is 54.02MB for the month! I can not understand how my phone used 106 months with my usual usage in 16 hours! Have e-mail them and they say that the charges on your account are correct.

Any Idea?

I dont see how you can use over 5GB of data on a mobile without explicitly doing some downloading

I questioned the amounts in my first post. I think we need some clarity here, exactly how much credit was used up and exactly how much data was used.

(You can't phone giffgaff as their whole point is that they are internet based to save money)

Mobile data =/= 3G. If you have Mobile Data turned on, the phone can connect to the internet and download stuff. Turning 3G off doesn't stop it connecting to the internet.

Have you got a Giffgaff goody bag or just normal pay and go?

If you have the £10 goody bag the internet is unlimited so shouldn't charge you

Like all who said on here its hard to think that you download that amount

My iPhone wanted to update skpe today and it was 21mb it told me to use WiFi and wouldn't let me download the update

The only way you could download that amount is if you were teething
But Giffgaff don't allow it

No good ringing O2 they have nothing to do with GG

GG is all done over the internet so there is NO Phone Numbers...that's why gg is cheap.

Never have 3g turned on and only get 2-3 bars for my phone signal at my flat where my phone was at this time.

It cost him £5.58, the numbers at the end are the cost, ie first 20MB cost £0.20, next 10Mb charged at 20p/Mb =£1.95 (roughly), next 17.1Mb also charged at 20p/Mb.

Nothing to worry about, a couple of apps probably updated. Certainly not giffgaffs fault, if you really want to ensure the phone doesnt use mobile data then delete the APN or get an app that turn off the data properly.

If you want to keep using data it would be wise to get a goodybag so you dont have to worry about how much you are using.

giffgaff has confirmed with me that I did use 5.58 GB in 16 hours.

Cant remember what my credit was but I put £10 on my phone on the 23rd and it was down to around £1.70ish on the 27th. And within that time I had only send around 10 text at a total cost of 40p. Have managed to find a number for the building that they have there office in.

I also have the notifications and location services switched off. Only use the internet for facebook and email.

I have been with giffgaff for over a year and always got the £10 goodybag for the unlimited internet, but every month I got emails telling me to switch to pay as you go because it would work out much cheaper! This time I decided to try it and look what happens! Feel like I have been cheated out of money!

Really cant figure how they got 6GB!!
