Reading Kathy's post aout feeling under the weather (poor you Kathy) reminded me of the witches rew I make when I am feeling really bad with cold/flu like/sore throat symptoms:]]
in a mug put some squash concntrate - blackcurrant is good
add a good pinch of ground ginger and a good pinch of cayenne pepper (good pinches mind)
a teaspoon of honey
2 crushed paracetamol (I do this with 2 spoons)
add hot water
you have to keep stirring while you drink it but its as good Lem sip (if not better)
Also when at work with a sore throat I sometimes chew a piece of root ginger (very small piece tho')debt free 2021 at current DMP rate[/COLOR] (probably be in an old peoples home by then)0 -
Molly, Aldi are doing ski wear this year, why not buy some salopettes to we ar out and about? They should keep you warm. X
I meant this week, oopsIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
Molly41 i saw a lady yesterday in a wheelchair and she had the coolest "scarf" it was sort of like square at the back so it covered neck and shoulders and top of the back and then had 2 long pieces which where hugely wide and wrapped around keeping most of the front body warm whilst also covering the neck. Much like a shawl but it looked more scarf like.
She actually told me off for staring until i explained that i loved her "scarf" and was looking at that to see if i could make one out of fleece for my grandad. I didn't think to ask where she had brought it.
I know its not a very good description but maybe it will help?
Also does anyone know where to get ear muffs for ADULTS not children? i have labyrinthitis (sp?) again and i hate it and i really want to protect my ears as much as possible.
I can still feel the blasted draught! 3 years this has been bugging me and this year i took revenge on it and we re sealed the front door, got door curtains, got draught excluders and i can still feel it!!
Maybe you can help? It is sofa arm height (as i feel it on my elbow when my arm is on the arm of the sofa) It feels like it is coming from the living room door but it cant be possible now so im wondering if maybe its coming from the bay window? Is there anywhere i might not have thought of that draughts come from?

I was doing a search on this company as we have one opening soon and I knew nothing about it, quite excited now so thanks for the link!
A balmy 10 degrees today and sunny, sorry for those with wind and rain.0 -
chirpy cant suggest any places but someone suggested earlier when hunting down drafts to light an incense stick and use that around possible places to see if the smoke was blown - HTH - I thought it was a great idea - lasts longer than a match and safer! LOL!
and I have seen adult earmuffs but cant remember where - have you tried ebay?Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last

Re earmuffs - I haven't seen any but I have seen nice hair band type things that you wear instead of a hat and they cover the ears - Primark had them for about £2 or £3 and they look really nice on

I am on a real mission to be as [STRIKE]tight[/STRIKE] frugal as possible and convert hubby too.
I have now convinced him to share a tea bag between 2 :T this morning i noticed my left over 1 from first thing hadn't been reused and told him off and he said "whoops sorry old habits die hard, no wait, i had coffee" :rotfl:
Thanks P00 & Frugal i hope they stay in stock for a few weeks as the nearest one wont be visited for a few weeks yet as it requires car usage.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
