Preparing for winter III

I've splashed out £15 on some sheepskin boots for myself as slippers (bought very cheap ones last year that disintegrated within weeks, tripping me up and ending up injuring my knee).
Same here, they are lovely and warm. I tripped over in my old pair. Worth the £15 and have a decent sole on them.

Washed my winter coats and then forgot to wear one of them today. I was freezing! Off to Glasgow next week though so think i'm going to need one of them then. I'm a Londoner and already cold with our weather! It was the wind today that was unbearably cold. It looked like a hurricane outside my office window!0

How do you use the bubble wrap. Do you just stick it to the glass, or does it have to cover both glass and window frame? Sorry if this is a dumb question -I'm a newbie!..............................................................................

Quick question for those who buy fleece and line up their curtains. My flat came with curtains but they belong to the LL. Instead of lining can I hand the fleece on the same curtain pole as the fabric ones? Is the fleece really heavy? My first time trying this and I don't want the curtain poles ripped off from the wall...............................................................................

Hello Moonjelly. you just need to rub a damp cloth over the glass and press the bubble wrap on to it,bubbles to the glass, if it comes off just re-wet the pane.Quick question for those who buy fleece and line up their curtains. Fleece is light and yes the same poles can be used, or how about using safty pins to attach 'em to the curtins. hth£71.93/ £180.000 -

That easy? wow. Thanks. I got tons of bubble wrap lying around leftover from removals.

I didn't think about safety pins! My local market has a stall where they sell fleece (different colours) £5.99 per metre -lenght is 1.5 metres. Will wait for end of month and all that but now I've got a plan :T..............................................................................

I don't think that fleeces are that heavy going by the one's I have purchased recently. All this is new to me and will be my next big thing to consider doing around the home. Changing the curtains and considering lining them.
But I'll have to walk before running. Aldi's have some great bedding specials on at presen t but too many at once and too much to spend in one go...but they'll do tem again no doubt.

That's what I noticed the most today, that icy chill as the wind blew...I have always been quite hardy but now I will make certain I am wrapped up well when outdoors if the weather is bad, thick coat and/or thermals, gloves and perhaps a scarf."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. No Pounstretcher where I live but IKEA has fleeces as well. Or you can get them from Ebay. I'm getting mine from the Market where there is a haberdashery stall...:p..............................................................................

Well done MJ,
Other possibilities...Tesco's, Asda and Sainbury's...;)I like the idea of buying it in a length that you decide that sounds a very good idea."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
