How about scrunching up a plastic bag or some bubble wrap and put it in the hole, it should come out when the postie push's post through it.MarilynMonroe wrote: »Good thinking Batman! I'll give that a go tonight :beer:

I'm having problems with the draught excluder now, it's soaked through. I've never known anything like this before. It hasn't stopped raining at all for 2 days solid, no let up for even 5 minutes!1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I had no reason to go out but being alone I get a bit stir crazy even though I like my own company but I looked at the weather and decided to stay indoors. Much the same here and I have known similar spells where it just rains continuously.

:eek::eek:, bother!! only thing I can think off for that is waterproof cloth and carry bags to make your own, or when you get the chance dry out the one you'v got and wrap it in cling film.£71.93/ £180.000 -
I think what I'll do is just buy another one.. and wash one and use one. Hopefully this rain can't keep up. My door was properly fitted only 5 years ago so I am a bit shocked at the amount of wet getting through. I guess we're just having a weird year.
Floods were maybe once every 10 years, I think we've had maybe 4 or 5 in the past few months alone. Luckily my house is high up but my path is a pond.
My daughters dad said he had water coming into his kitchen through his back door lapping up the steps!
On a brighter note, 20 degrees with a cat tucked into my side1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I've managed to identify some draughts too. Going to use flat pillow inners rolled up and tacked into position... if it works.
Also identified the need for a waterproof handbag. Going to have to put the contents in a carrier bag tomorrow until I can figure a solution. I bet it's more the case of saving for a solution though.
I have a cross body handbag and just slip a clear carrier bag over it and tie it across the zip whist wearing the bag. I look a biit odd though!
However you may need a solution that keeps your self respect intact, I'm too old to give a monkeys,0 -

This morning is the first when I have woken up cold. I haven't put up my Winter curtains yet as I was trying to still feel a bit Summery.
Today I will be;
Taking all the Winter weight curtains out of the airing cupboard,
Asking DS3 to hang all the curtains ( the living room has 8 plus door curtain)
Fixing fleeces to bedroom and office curtains,
Fixing bubble wrap to single glazed windows,
Nudging/begging DS3 to continue adding insulated boards to hall ceiling as we now have a hall ceiling with the felt showing and the wind is blowing in.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
