So what can I buy as it becomes necessary that will keep me warm, but at the same time see me through the next stage of loss? Got alot of weight to loseThank you to all the money savers:beer: for all the wisdom, companionship, bargains, competitions and ideas:T you have made a transformation to our household, Thank you, it would have been so much harder without you and together we are amazing :A:smileyhea0 -

also does anyone know if primark sell fleecy dressing gowns preferably for men? my ex needs one, i suspect the ones for women if they have them are all feminine colours so not his cup of teai've been extolling to him the virtues of a long fleece dressing gown and slipper boots when at home to help keep the heating down on low and i think he's starting to listen, i'm shocked now we're not together it finally sinks in, go figure :rotfl:
Dd has just come back from cambridge primark and said yes they had loads, mens onesies that isPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -

Well today I changed the kids duvets to winter ones and I used their old summer ones to put on top of their mattress with the sheet on top to keep them extra snug
I have had the electric fire on and off in short bursts today, I refuse to put my heating on till we are well into next month. I find though of an evening, once I have had a hot bath and put my fleecys on I don't feel to cold, I dare so that won't be like that for much longer and the heating will have to go on.

abcdefghijklmnop wrote: »Hi, I've read the prepping for winter threads for a while now and got some really useful tips. I seem to remember people posting some links for cheap but warm snow boots sometime last year? I get very cold feet generally but am also going to a ski resort in January... so I need some waterproof snowproof warm winter boots that are cheapish... any ideas? I'm a female size 5 and can get away with kids shoes usually if that helps!
Thanks guys - the strong winds and rain we've had today reminded me I need to get shoes sorted!

Evening all,
I've read these threads with interest over the past few years and have received lots of good advice. In 2008 to 2010 I lived in a VERY cold end-terrace house, but luckily, last summer I moved to block of flats, in which I'm the middle of 3 and only 2 walls exposed to the outside. Even in the depths of winter, indoor temp rarely fell much below 19 degrees.
Last winter I had a small electric heater in the hallway, and that was good enough to keep me warm. So much so that I never needed the central heating!
This post has reminded me though that I need to get the winter duvet on soon! It's been nippy the past few nights!Because it's fun to have money!

Enjoy!
It is lush, I can hear the rain, the pooches are snuggling infront of the fire and the cats are sprawled out on the sofa. I home swapped from a brand new 3 bedroom modern to a quirky old 2 bed with humongous amounts of land and this gorge open fire!! well worth the trade even though a bit nippy, I love it.Thriftkitten

Sounds perfect!
I don't blame you, new builds have no feeling in them and are very soul- less, old builds have so much about them, give me an old build over a new one any day of the week!Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0
