I have done five loads of washing today. I stripped our bed right back washed the mattress and pillow protectors, duvet cover, sheets, throws and then stripped the second bedroom. That load will be done tomorrow. Didin't get the scarves washed today as the machine was at full tilt so that is being moved into tomorrow's schedule.
I got the flannelette sheets washed and dried and I have put them away tonight in the vacuum bags ready for autumn.
Structually - fingers crossed and touching wood here - everything is tickety boo so there is now nothing there we need to be concerned about. Service for the boiler is booked for September. Loads of stuff to sort out in the loft for a car boot and Ebay sell off. Garden will need a tidy and cut back come October, but other than that we are just cleaning and washing what needs to be done. Still running down the freezer and will get a big shop in September.
Just be glad when this weather cools down later this week it is really hot and humid and the dogs are finding this weather unbearable as well!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Just noting the list I need to make a winter car box for DH's car.
Fleece blanket
Ice de-icer spray
ice scraper
shovel
salt bag
torch and batteries (possibly wind up with radio)
gloves/hat/scarf
old coat
snap handwarmer
look into camping meals etc
cereal bars/crisps
water wrapped in bubble wrap to try to stave off freezing up.
Have I forgot anything?0 -
Fuddle what about one of those wind up mobile chargers? In case battery goes whilst en route and need to make any calls?Bossymoo

Fuddle - I got a Tesco value wind up radio/torch last year when I was commuting 100 miles a day, it cost £3 and I was relally pleased. I also had spare warm socks and a foil blanket from £1 shop. I looked into camping meals but they were all very expensive, I did put in a pot noodle and a thermal flask as my plan was to fill it with boiling water before I left work/home if it looked a bit troublesome.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Fuddle I would throw an emergency blanket or two in as they are so light and take up next to no space but are good - you can pick them up all over the place. I got some from Amazon just last week as son walked off with the ones I had, I didn't even bother asking what he wanted them for, he just pops in helps himself and then wonders why I get angry when I ask him has he taken this or that and he says yes, without asking. I thought they might be useful to go over feet as if he was stuck in car for a bit he would most likely find his feet are the thing to get cold first even with a fleece blanket over him and second one could go round him as well as fleece.
My hubby rarely uses car for commute now as the only car park open when he has to be in for 6am charges £11 an hour if you take the car in before 8am ( and he is by then is out on his round) so he usually drives to station and leaves a car there.
Its so annoying as old car park was only £2.50 a day and now he has to pay £3.80 a day and a longer walk from station to work. He will though be doing some long runs with his hobby - we did a run out yesterday to a new place he will be playing at on Fridays when season begins. 48 miles each way through mainly narrow country lanes so I will be loading him up with even more bits than I did last year for the 18 miles and 25 miles journeys again most of those journeys through country lanes.
I plan to buy a couple of those wide mouth flasks and fill them with hot soup as will not feel to bad if that is not eaten luckily hot thick soup is cheap and easy to make and nourishing and warming.
Oh yes I also keep a couple of those light sticks in the car emergency box as well - I feel they could be stuck on car roof or bonnet if he broke down in heavy snow, mmmm maybe I should add a roll of tape so he could stick it down, can worry about any damage to paintwork at a later date.
I must get some more light sticks as my stock has gone down - giving them to grandchildren to play with when here and its dark they love going into garden with them or turning lights off.
Right just ordered 4 with free delivery as all I can afford today, will get a few more next weekNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Adding a shopping list.
* Refill medicine cupboard.. calpol, tixylix, ibuprofen, cocodamol, day/night nurse capsules, anbesol, savlon cream, lip balm, strepsils, vicks sinex, rennies,
Bought a supply of lip balm in Poundland, packs of 3. At that price, they can be left in various places and no need to look for one when it is needed.A smile costs little but creates much0
