Found DH's old work hat so that's getting a wash to go in his winter box. I need to source a box to put them in though. Looked on Asda for ice-scraper and de-icer but nothing there quite yet. Also self heating food packs are around £5  I will buy one in the coming months and set him off with a flask of tea every morning. Looking into those hotcan's they seem good but can't buy them online just yet.

If you have to move I'm glad in your situation it looks as though it's worked out and you still have a roof over your head...I know we discussed time ago the changes coming in...all the best...

I have finally completed the washing for the clothes. 19 loads done since Tuesday in the washing machine so I think it will be glad of a break for a couple of days - although I do have the towels to wash tomrrow.

I may have a look at the curtans in the house as well although they were washed last year and I only tend to do them every 18 months or so as they don't get very dirty - just more dust in the fabric than anything.

Just having a quick scan down that list - it seems a bit horrific but we are about there and on course for completing everything.

Hi and thanks for the list rainy days.

One to add is a trick my local carcraft service centre told me about. 2 winters ago, my car doors were frozen shut, I didn't realise and popped the passenger door handle and it snapped off in my hand! It broke the clasp, so once defrosted, the door didn't stay shut!

Anyway, we live near a carcraft, and since I have kids, they kindly offered to come collect it. When I went to pay for it after, the fella told me he had rubbed vaseline all over my door seals, to prevent water getting to them, so it couldn't freeze the rubber together. He told me to do it every oct/nov. he also showed me how to get wd40 inside the door handle, to prevent the mechanism also getting wet and freezing.

So, add Vaseline and WD40 to your list to prevent car doors seizing up!

I wonder if vaseline will work to stop my upvc windows from sticking? I have to fight to open them sometimes and when I give them a shove to open they sometimes open too far and I can't reach the handle to shut them :rotfl: This also reminds me, I need to oil/wd40 all the hinges on the windows & clean them up...might be a job for next week when I've finished decluttering (just 2 areas to go - craft & storage cupboard!) :D
