We did loads of stuff last year - mammoth stuff such as staining the shed (it had a new roof put on it and and new felting) and fences, painting the gates, staining bird tables, painting fascia boards etc. So although we still need to do a bit of prepping the really big back breaking jobs have been done.
Allot of things I can now take in my stride such as washing coats etc. The cut back in the garden come October is still there. We have noticed some mortar that have come out in between the ridge tiles so that is going to be dealt with in the next few weeks just replacing the mortar. I shall leave it another month or so and then start buying in the coal at the summer prices and then we shall get a big load of logs delivered in August as well. I am holding off blacking the log burner at the moment as over the jubilee weekend we had it on as it was so cold.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

as a previous poster said, you will need to think about clothes bigger than 0-3 months. two of mine were 9 pounds birth weight, and the 0-3 months size wouldn't even go near them!0

I had DD go through her clothes with me today as I noticed the sleeves on some things were riding up....half of her wardrobe is now in a pile on my bed to be sold/donated including hardly worn thermal socks, jumpers etc  That'll be my winter list being extended again just when I thought I was getting somewhere with itCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Definately get disposable nappies in over winter in case the washing machine breaks down and you are snowed in!
(and for hospital - you might be in for a few days and you don't want hubby running back and forth with washables!)0 -
Have not been in this forum for months now but have often wondered how all my thread friends have been faring. We had a mild winter here in New York State thankfully. OH still has not found work and at almost 60 we are considering him "retired" unless a miracle comes along. Fortunately we have been able to keep up with the monthly expenses and our winter stockpile is being rotated and remains ample. (I like being prepared.) I got my weight down to normal and have been maintaining although some days are extremely hard. I lost about 4 stone total.
I had shoulder and wrist surgery about 2.5 weeks ago (same arm). I was in quite some pain for several days and had to take a good bit of pain pills, but now am able to control the discomfort with just Tylenol (paracetamol). Dressings are off and wounds are healing. I will start Physical Therapy in 2 more weeks. Not looking forward to that, but it is necessary to regain proper function.
My springer spaniels are lying at my feet as I type. They are doing well as is OH
I hope you all are well and are enjoying the pleasant weather!0 -

when i had baby no6 we had already had the problem of 0-3 months being too small but having to put a newborn in 6-12 months we hadnt allowed for as at that point my biggest had been 10lb she was 10ib 14oz not saying you will have a big baby as its your first but it can happen her gran was a10lber and an only child (i wonder why?:rotfl:) didn't stop me baby no 7 was a 10lber like her big bro baby no 4
don't forget formula for baba even if you plan on breast feeding it comes in really handy if you are worn out or poorly and gives dada a turn at night feeds that way they get used to both and you have less problems if you have to stop breast feeding you could get ready made cartons and tin of powder for when you use it more often hth
all the best for nov little one might even share my birthday2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year0 -
0-3 months clothes can be a waste of time - none of my three fitted them as they were all over 9lb!muffin_man_7 wrote: »her gran was a10lber and an only child (i wonder why?:rotfl:)
Big babies come out more easily - they have more stamina. I was over 11lb (born at home the scales only went up to 11lb and I apparently stretched the scales to their limit :rotfl: so I have no idea of my real birth weight) and I was my mum's easiest birth - she didn't even have time to get to hospital. Basically coughed and out I came!0 -
Lol my eldest was 8lb4 and wouldn't budge. We needed the tongs :-( my youngest was a pound and a half less and she just slid out, my waters hadn't even gone, she was still in her membranes...Bossymoo
