I've started using up my stock too, hardly touched it if I'm honest. This year I plan on doing the same again though, I'd rather have it and not need it !!! Already got a good stock of beans from when Mr A's had them on offer at £1 couple of weeks ago...

I've taken a leaf out of pigpens book and bought some meds ready for winter ;) I also bought some pillar candles (clearance price £1.50 for the big ones that last about 80 hours :money:) & tea lights in Asda yesterday. Going to stock up on some more of the winter scented candles from home bargains as well, DD thought I was mad buying winter berry candles now but I don't care :D

I really need to take a day and write some proper lists out. I have bits of lists in different notebooks all over the place :o Might treat myself to a nice one from Asda tomorrow and get them all together so I can start tackling outside jobs when the weather improves :D I don't want to be putting things off and then not getting around to them again :o
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Its definately a good time to start doing bits while we can still remember what wasnt done for this year. Will be on the look out for winter bits for sale / freecycle ready for next year (and maybe a little for this year too).

I too have not used much from winter stores and most can be kept til next year, although i need to stock take as not really sure whats in there :)

Im seriously considering buying my new Ugg Boots as atm they are significantly cheaper than in the winter - about 40 pounds a pair. I have very poor circulation and have worn them into the ground so they are a necessity for me not a luxury.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yep, I've snapped up a few myself. It's a wonder how very cheering they are in the depths of winter even if they give off no discernible heat.

You might consider having a look in your local charity shops for a ring-binder or similar. I found a brand-new one for 50 pence recently, so now I have somewhere to keep all those jottings and clippings I cut out of the newspapers which I think might come in useful.

I've also noticed that the charity shops round here are discounting useful things like fleece tops and blankies down to a pound each now. If I wasn't so well-stocked with same I'd be snapping some up.

Good news! My landlord is planning to install double-glazing later this year so I'm hoping that will make a real difference come winter-time. The heat-loss from thirteen feet of single-glazed windows doesn't bear thinking about.....
