Preparing for winter III

I know this is a bit more like 'Preparing for summer' but can anyone recommend me somewhere for blackout lining yardage. I've got masses of fabric and want to make some new curtains and line them with blackout. I'm already fed up with the dog waking up and wanting to go out because of the lighter mornings. I've got thermal lining but it doesn't keep out the light. I assume Dunelm does yardage but it's a long way to go if it isn't good and wonder if there are other places - maybe online as I don't live near a city and the cost of petrol would be more than postage.
Thanks - and ps to abwsco, glad you like your elec blanket, you might guess the weather is warmer now you've bought it. When it gets cold again it'll be heaven!0 -

Eliza, I'm sure the name of a fabric shop has been posted either on this thread or the previous PFW one.
Also, perhaps we'll have a heatwave now I've got the eb:rotfl:0 -
Eliza - I know John Lewis do the blackout lining, but have no idea of price!0

I didn't know whether to post on here or start a new thread on the "I wanna buy-it" board.
Thinking ahead to buying an electric underblanket if I see one on offer. Never having had one before can anyone recommend one in particular. Which one kept you snuggly TIA:)
Also, do we just add to this thread for things that worked this year. Wasn't sure if a new thread would be started:o:o
I love my electric blanket, have used one for the past 28 years no the same one i might add!
All my children have one as well save on having the heating on as high! My youngest is 16 so they know how to use them!:j rolo-polo1965 :j0 -
Has anyone seen any cheap fleeces around at all. Just thinking about putting some onto DD's new (lined)curtains before I help her hang them up at the window. They're on a tight budget as baby is due end of March so can't afford the extra thermal linings. Windows are DG but I thought it would help. TIA
I bought my fleeces fron Ikea, it was the cheepest i could find!
Need to finish making the lining nowfor the exyension to help keep it a bit warmer:j rolo-polo1965 :j0 -

OMG I'm so sorry, I didn't realise I had asked that previously. God my brain!!!0 -
Its snowing here:eek:
That list of things that worked for you is fab Rainy-days. Thanks for posting that, got a few new ideas!
I really need to get motivated now. Have got a list of things that need doing but just cant get round to them. I just know I'll be complaining come next winter
And Im with you all on the electric blanket being a necessity, absolutely love mine. The only thing I would say to anyone about to buy one is go for a King size. We only have a double bed but made the mistake of buying a double eb and it was only 3.5ft square, not good when we are both 6ft + :rotfl:. Had to sleep in the foetal position until we got a king size one, the double one is now in the spare room:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
I did hear it was going to snow again, looking forward to it.0
