I didn't know whether to post on here or start a new thread on the "I wanna buy-it" board.

Thinking ahead to buying an electric underblanket if I see one on offer. Never having had one before can anyone recommend one in particular. Which one kept you snuggly TIA:)

Jumping the gun as I never waited for any replies :o but I found a Silentnight standard electric blanket on the dreaded te£££co's for £25 plus some clubcard vouchers in a pile of paperwork on my desk so got it for £18.50.

Mine is 'Dreamland' its fantastic, the electric blanket one of the best things ever invented.I'm sure they're all much of a muchness aren't they? Best thing is to go for the cheapest price as you have done. After a day spent in the garden, I can't wait to crawl into bed and feel that warmth on my back...mmmm. Wonderful.

Am looking forward to it Eliza:) The bed's always freezing when we get in if it's cold although once warmed up our wool duvet is great at keeping us just right.

We should have done some gardening today but I ended up taking our youngest DD out so she could buy some cheap curtains and a new duvet cover from Poundstretchers. Well worth a visit if anyone needs new curtains as they had fully lined up to 90" x 90" for only £9.99 a pair. Infact I think I may go back again when I'm off on Tuesday and see what's left for our big landing window as I never got around to getting any for it this winter.
  • Electric blankets are wonderful. They make you feel so pampered and its an instant relaxation as you feel that heavenly warmth as you slide into bed. DDs both have Silent Night ones with several heat settings on them cannot reccomend them too highly. Enjoy if you buy one. Lyn.

My craghoppers lined trousers are just brilliant. They really are toasty. Thank you to the OP for the heads-up on these.

I'll second that. Wonderful in Italy in the snow. Pity we didn't have much here - its just been wet, wet, and more wet.

Has anyone seen any cheap fleeces around at all. Just thinking about putting some onto DD's new (lined)curtains before I help her hang them up at the window. They're on a tight budget as baby is due end of March so can't afford the extra thermal linings. Windows are DG but I thought it would help. TIA

Just posting to say I found some at Dunelm Mill for £2.99. Could only reserve the summer weight ones in blue at my local but they are 55" x 79" Could be worth trying if anyone is thinking of getting well ahead with preps.

Scrub me getting cheap ones. Store has just rung to say they can't find any in store. Used the "reserve your item" twice with Dunelm and both times the items haven't been available:(

Hope anyone else trying for some has better luck than me.

The electric blanket is wonderful and I can't think why we haven't bought one before. Haven't kept in on though once we're in bed as our wool duvet keeps us warm enough.
