Well its so chilly this evening - but not that chilly to put on the heating! Kids have gone to bed with a hot water bottle & I'm relaxing with a beer!

We've decided to have out living room gas fire fixed. Hasn't worked for over 4 yrs & we left it like that after we had DS who is now 3. we will get it working again for the evenings.

Pigpen What an adorable little girl! Massive congratulations :)

I have another little fire going tonight :D I am so pleased to finally have one - The rest of the works are being started on Monday so there will be a few days when I can't have a fire at all :( I will have to light candles instead :D

A quick tip for smokers>......... Don't forget to keep a spare pack of ciggies in the car in case you get stuck somewhere ;)

Also, for spider haters - Raid Red spray is really effective. I sprayed the inside and outside of my french doors a few days ago, went outside today and there are many 8 legged corpses on the door ledge   One looks a lot like a False Widow spider... which BITE    I have taken pics for my friend to identify <shudders and has a quick check around the room> Will be spraying every 3 weeks (product info says it lasts a month but i'm taking no chances :D ) to keep the beggars out.

Oh BTW - can anyone point me in the right direction for buying a cheap hot water bottle? DS has "borrowed" mine - once he's asleep its back in my bed! I bought him a lovely Thomas cover last year for christms & no bottle! doh!

Proper snow shovel bought as opposed to using garden spade, should make the job a bit easier and quicker, snow / frost cover bought saves scraping the car in minus figures at 5 oclock in the morning, just ordered some ice grips for my shoes, and have being adding a packet or two salt to shopping every week. So at least I will be able to get off the drive and stay upright with a bit more ease this winter.

Salting last year helped keep the road I live on lot saver as several of us did it and living on a bend on a hill it gets very bad at times so it was nice to avoid some accidents with a little neighbourly work.

Now where did I leave the thermals and which garages are starting to offer their winter checks ?
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.

Pigpen she is beeeauuutifulll! :A My DS was 5 weeks early and lost ALL his hair first time I bathed him - I am so glad that didnt happen to your little lady. And you can see she is massively intelligent too by the way she is looking at the camera!

Frugal thank you for the Red Raid tip; I thought I was laughing as youngest dog was getting really good at spotting them and instantly despatcing them BUT now she has decided that I praised her so much that I must want the spiders brought to me ON THE SOFA:eek: - 2 in rapid succession last night and she is currently 'on watch ; at my feet. DEF. getting the Raid in the am.

Temp down to 9 degrees at the mo and house def. feels chilly. Hot water bottle tonight.

Tugrin :rotfl:.... oh I'm so sorry but that was so funny! Not for you of course (and you do have my sympathy) but the way you described it made me burst out laughing!

    Evening!

Pigpen she is adorable, congratulations :D

I have been steadily stocking up however I have now switched my focus to christmas gifts especially for my DD. Last year the weather was so bad that a lot of deliveries to Scotland were cancelled or caught up in the back log and a lot of her gifts didn't make it on time so this year I am determined to have my xmas gifts in for her at least.

Got a new long handled ice scraper in the hope I will not get soaked this year. Also treated myself to a new pair of leather gloves which were a (kind of) bargain in the sales. Now I need to get my car in for an MOT and service to make sure it is ok and get the emergency car pack in the back.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
