Well, I am thinking if we do not get the hard weather this winter then we are all going to be well early with preparations for for the next one as already done. Was looking forward to using my new penquin hotwater bottles though.

I have snow at last :D
  • Oh Mardatha lucky you. We've none here but can see some up the hills. We moved ds school so will see some snow when passing doing school run, bit nervous as never done it in winter before, but at least snow tyres will get a wee use. It's freezing - keep warm everyone.

  • Here its, can you guess lol. pouring again as usually. My front left fence has had to be tied to my tree at front as it was falling out onto pavement. That side of garden ends up under water as its lowest point and next door neighbour has totally flagged their front so their water ends up in my garden as well ( I live at bottom of a half mile steep hill with village at top, plus slightly gentler hills to left and right )) and the bottom of the fence, the stakes that were in ground to hold it in place, have totally rotted away, while rest of it is perfect. So sometime when and if it ever stops raining for a few days we will have to dig out where fence goes and pour in concrete and place bottom of fence in it.

One thing I guess if we do not have any more snow at least all the extras we bought in for the winter will do in the future so less to worry about next winter or the next, so long as I do not forget where I put them:)

Right better go as hospital appointment at 3.30pm

    stay warm and dry

  • The best way to look at all our hoarded supplies and equipment etc. is to see them as an investment that will undoubtedly be much much more expensive to buy in the coming year. Even if we don't get to play this year if we are really good perhaps we shall get some snow next year!

yes I agree mrs LW, everything bar the food will be good for next year and regarding the food, well I started using it 6 weeks ago and have only spent £23 in the shops in all that time. I haven`t even made a dent in my freezer stash and all my dehydrated stuff is keeping well and is surprisingly good in one pot meals. I only need to buy some fruit, milk and eggs for the whole summer. Lol I have even started moving money across to a savings account, thanks to my winter stash.

Mind you, I am not stashing as much next year :embarasse

I should really stop believing the weather man! Three of them stated we'd have snow this morning, but when I woke up there was nothing but rain, left me feeling let down :(

Cooker is still not working, tap is still leaking, fence is still in pieces on the lawn. Landlord still not replying to calls.

Today is a day of bad moods!

But hope you're all safe and well :D

  • No snow down here in Hampshire but enough hail this morning dropped in a very short time and it looked as though it had snowed. My goodness its chilly today, stay warm folks Lyn.
  • hope you filled bath with water first otherwise when you do the weight of the water will pull the bath down and could break the seal and you will be back to a leak bath hth

I didn't as it said on the tube there was no need as the silicone will stretch when bath is filled, if it does go again now I realise how easy it is to sort will do it again as soon as I see any break at all, will be checking every time I have a bath or clean it.

Rained earlier, as normal but now dry and sun keeps popping out, but boy oh boy is it cold........

I've just returned from Home Bargins where they had snow shovels for £3.99 as well as de icer and plastic sledges.

We have blue sky and sunshine but very cold feels like the wind is icy, it was a lot milder at HB which is only a few miles away, but not at the top of a hill like us.
