I didn't know you could link to A*azon thru N£ctar and get points  The points I have missed out on
:o:o
its worth a look at Nectar's list of stores - I lost points on a big electrical purchase from Currys a while ago because I didn't know they were part of the scheme... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Anyway, to the point. I'd like to buy some of the non-slip clip on things to put on outdoor shoes/boots as gifts for Crimbo & have seen lots of posts mentioning Yak*Trax & wondered how these compare to the Q*V*C* Winter*Trax? Q*V*C ones look almost identical & are £18.95 for 2 pairs so work out much cheaper than Yaks but wondered if anyone had tried either & had any comments/recommendations please? Also can either be worn over wellies?
TIA.
I got those last year and they are fantastic. I wear them on my wellies and shoes and not even the dog pulling on the lead on the ice had me over
The one downside is they are hard to get on. I got a pair for me mum to use in town ( they dont clear pavements here) but she didnt have the strength to take them on and off her shoes ( driving and walking indoors) so she had to carry a spare pair of shoes with her to change into
But she never fell either0 -

ohhh, would they work on crocs? my mother is a stubborn croc wearer and is always falling over!0 -
Hi all
I have had my loft insulated and cavity walls done (in bedrooms only) last week and I am really feeling the difference ..... I would recommend getting it done if you havent already. My bedroom was 22 degrees last night!!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
OMG tumpty - get her out of those for the winter!! I had the worst slip/fall ever last year because I was wearing a pair of Crocs with very little tread left on them. I slipped off the 14 inch concrete step as I was coming out of the shed, foot that was on the ground went out from under me and I fell scraping hip and lower back on sharp edge of concrete and landing with a leg half under me. It was a miracle I didnt break anything but I was very badly bruised and winded and had to lie there for several minutes before I could get my limbs sorted out.
If she WONT listen to sense at least make sure she has brand new ones with lots of tread on.debt free 2021 at current DMP rate[/COLOR] (probably be in an old peoples home by then)0 -
Crocs  On snow and Ice???:eek::eek:
Recipe for broken bones IMHO - Agree with Tugrin, confiscate the crocs.0 -

Thanks suki, that's really helpful I have read customer reviews but like to get recommendations from here as never fails.
Not quite sure which ones you went for though - the Y*aks or the Q*V*C ones?
tumptyteapot - I agree, the Crocs mite have to mysteriously disappear??? Or put just a little too close to oven or hot radiator & come a cropper??? You could treat her to some new ones like mine with a removable furry/fleecy insole for Crimbo with a safer tread if she's adamant she won't ditch them? Not sure how much they are though my DS bought me these about 5 years ago when he went to America. I take the fleece out in summer but I have to agree with tugrin, they can be lethal. Mine are really worn now but I NEVER go outside in ice/snow in them & they live next to the back door, always put something sensible on. Saw too many nasty injuries over the years when I worked in healthcare environment & sometimes the shock is harder to get over than the physical injuries.
I don't need an excuse to fall over though, I think I'm the only person I know who falls UP the stairs, usually rushing around with a basket of laundry on hip...0 -

Maybe I'm being a bit thick but I can't work out how you could have cavity wall insulation just for some rooms of your home? I ask because I'm in a flat and would love to have it done but not all the neighbours are keen. If there's a way of only doing some rooms then maybe there's a way of only doing one flat!Household: Laura + William-cat
Not Buying It in 20150 -
Me neither, all the books i have bought for my kindle,:( Going to google so i don't miss out on anymore. Thankyou
Going to catch up on this thread cos i love it. Great ideas and lots of smiles
I have downloaded the Nectar search bar, for every two searches you get a point, up to 50 a month. I had an email form Nectar about it about a year ago, but I am guessing it must be on their website still.
Also, whenever you go onto a site that Nectar "use", a little reminder comes up on your screen.0
