Have been argueeing with them all day

    Last email I recieved is:
We have explained this matter as best we can. At this point, we must inform you that this is our last correspondence regarding this matter. While we apologize if there is any dissatisfaction regarding the resolution found here, we consider this matter closed.

But previous to that they have stated:
This charge stands valid and would require payment. Please update the payment method on file in order to further resolve this matter. Please kindly note that accounts left delinquent will eventually and automatically pass to collection agency AFS.

    Browsing them now thank you.

Was looking for debt advice rather than web related advice. So posting here seemed a good call.

    Anyone had dealings with AFS?
I thought debts could not be passed on if they were still in despute. is the correct?

Also they are now refusing to talk to me. I don't want the debt passed to an agency. So what the best way foward?

if they do pass to debt agency which i see unlikely for £7 then just reply to debt agency that you dont owe it and provide proof and say you dispute this and then they have to pass this back to 1 & 1

wil give you an insite into 1 & 1 s business practices as they are not a good company to deal with for anything

You keep saying 'I though I had cancelled', did you cancel or didn't you? And if you did did you do so in a tangible form and therefore able to proof it?

If not I suspect you need to pay the invoice and request to cancel the domain name in tangible form and get confirmation.

i suspect he has just cancelled the paypal agreement and subscription with paypal, but has not cancelled with 1 & 1 so when they tried to recover the annual fee paypal refused so they have contacted the account holder.

to the OP just pay what you owe and move on.

I agree. I'm surprised 1&1 accept paypal if i'm honest, over automated card payments as I imagine this is a common issue.

i have had the reverse when hosting clients have cancelled their hosting vis the correct method with me, but failed to cancel their subscriptions with paypal so paypal would still send me their money, so my time in contacting the ex client to inform them and then refund the payment.

I remenber doing it but i don't have proof.
I have few domains with 1&1.

Earlier this year i was caught out by their autorenew feature. If the names on your account don't match the whois i gives you message, "We cannot confirm your cancellation request because your are not the owner of the selected domain". I took this as it had been cancelled but they were unable to confirm it.

After a few phone calls i sorted this. I believed I cancelled all my domains from autorenewing. But maybe I missed this one. But i had in depth conversions over the phone and 1&1 should be aware that i don't want my domains to renew.

I wasn't aware this domain was going to renew. Mistake can happen (I can't be a 100% sure that I cancelled that domain and I have no proof). But they should be aware I didn't them to renew from the phone calls. I may have not used their system correctly but have told them. But thats no why i'm bothered. It becuase they invoiced me a month after renewing. If they inoviced me before or that day it renewed I may have let it pass. but they charging me for something i didn't even know i had.

as you say you have no provem, so you a re 100% liable for the invoice so pay it.

I think i will phone 1 & 1 and say i am you and want £1000 worth of services from them, do you think they will accept this. I DONT THINK SO.

my point is you cannot cancel a service via phone or email or at least no decent web company will accept these methods as these can be made by anyone. the only guaranteed way to cancel is through your account with them so that they know it is the actual account holder cancelling or at least the account holder takes responsibility of what happens through their account.
