I wasn't talking about swapping personal details. If someone has tickets they can't go to can they not email the confirmation page to someone who can go?

Well asking somebody for their email falls under this. AFAIK email is a personal detail, if I am telling you my email address to send the offer to it is sharing personal detail.
The email address can be misused by lots of spammers out there. A spammer can set up a trap to get email addresses if allowed sharing here.

I believe this is why the idea of giving away tickets was always moderated and a number of threads/posts related to this were deleted in past.

  • That's true. I'm not trying to argue or anything but there is the function to send a member an email, without actually asking for any personal details. Could that be used to send tickets to a member? I just want to clear things up.

The thing is if such offerings are allowed some people might post "please send the tickets to a-user@example.com" or likes of it....

This could make things harder to moderate, maybe this is the reason it is avoided altogether.

    Thank you for understanding.

Mods please clear up this discussion to keep thread clean....

Well, just to save any further problems, I've e-mailed them to cancel my tickets so they will be available as normal if anyone wants them.

Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.

Thanks to the op for preview tickets from film first to see The Good Shepard, quite a packed house and a great free night out ! Thanks, looking forward to finding more tickets.

I originally posted this in free cinema tickets but I have put it here for discussion purposes.

I know this isn't totally free, or previews, but if you missed a preview or would like to see one again or you don't have the orange deal then it might be useful to you.

This is normally £3.99 per month. You can blast the cinema for a month and then let your OH, friend or relative apply for another month.

Cheekymole has added this useful post:

Having read the T&C's etc it seems that you can only watch certain films and only at certain cinemas so worth checking before you apply

Ah, thanks for the myvuew website. It seems you can only watch certain movies at certain cinemas so not that great then :(

Anyway, I have figured out a way to get Orange Wednesday if you are not an Orange customer! Go to the Orange website & register for a free email address. Then register your mobile & you can send the sms for the ticket that way! I used it last week with my O2 phone :)

Sadly you haven't really got a clue about me.

Under normal circumstances the "tickets only" thread, without any repeats or duplicates, no discussion posts or stupid questions, would have between 15 and 25 posts (ish) at any given time.
About a quarter of them would have been posted by me - ALL of which would be genuine free preview ticket offers. I am one of the most prolific contributors to that thread, and when an offer preview date has passed I regularly edit and delete all of the expired posts that I've made.

As for trying to maintain order of the "ticket only" thread I've regularly posted on it pointing out to scores of miscreants the errors of thier ways to little or no avail. It's like pi$$ing into a headwind!

As for the "You and half the PLANET !" ?
It was in response to a member's post that had an urgency as though their life depended upon it. Infact it was only a several thousand to one chance of winning a pair of tickets with an answer that millions if not billions of people knew.

If the moderator of the thread heatherw_01 (who does an absolutely fantastic job deleting all the rubbish that gets posted there) has not tidied away my post in the next half a day or so, along with the other 10 or so that need getting rid of, AS ALWAYS, I will be doing it myself.

    Have a nice day !
