Car buddy, You say you are open and honest. I'm just wondering whether there's anything you'd say on this thread, with the benefit of anonymity, that you wouldn't say in your [text deleted by MSE Forum Team] sales talk? [text deleted by MSE Forum Team]0

It's interesting to compare carlover's comments to what is stated on the Fischer website. and in their brochure [text deleted by MSE Forum Team]No free lunch, and no free laptop0

This is just gut feeling but I wonder if insulation standards in Germany and Scandinavia (the Fischer reference market) are better than the deplorable standards in far too much of the UK housing stock. There is no cheap (or easy) way to heat a poorly insulated house, though (relatively) mains gas comes closest.
While I do not believe stories of storage heaters being cold in the morning (unless defective in charging or output control) it will be the case that many are installed in poorly insulated houses and therefore the home is "colder than desired" sometime between early afternoon and early evening. A suitable case for judicious use of a <£50 heater.
There is no "cheap heating" way to address poor insulation standards. Expensive heaters, regardless of their characteristics are just a double whammy if they consume day rate electricity in a poorly insulated property.0 -
Ok before I leave this thread entirely ,wachdog ,do yourself a favour before you implode.
Become a mystery shopper ,get someone over ,pretend you have another home somewhere whatever and see what might happen.
If you are not happy complain to Trading Standards.Stop hitting Keyboard letters and just do it.
You must have money to burn ,if you can destroy a £1000 heater.
That is my lot ,thankyou and goodnight.0 -
wachdog ,what do you do for a living?
Wibo are a german manufacturer of electric heaters ,not american.
Even though you have a way of talking down to me ,ill give you the benefit of the doubt.
I told customers it wa a Tungsten Element ,that was part of the Pitch.
Now ive just gone through the website and thereis nothing about that.
I am also picturing the presentation folder in my mind ,again nothing in it.
So .....they are in the clear arent they.
In their world I have made it up and its me telling lies.
After training im not going to take away a heater and get it opened and tested am I ,I go by what ive been told.
However as far as I can see at the moment you could be anybody ,who says it hasnt got a Tungsten Element ? Just you at the moment.

Wachdog,some propoganda !!!!!!! Im actually wondering how astute YOU are. Propoganda ??? Ive told you I was a salesman not an Engineer. I didnt need to be an engineer im not fitting anything ,I had enough skills to present survey and deliver a price.
If you are genuinly interested in Fischer Pm me your mobile and ill have a chat with you.
You keep saying "you" it is not ME ,I dont work there anymore.
I have nothing to gain.
I have to tell you I was genuinly shocked by their turnover.They actually work from the owners house.Although they are moving into anoffice soon.
I havent got a clue about his VAT returns etc,.
I was selling a lot of heaters.
Yes to the Grey Market mostly ,not all by allmeans but every one I saw was fully compus mentus.They are the ones that are cold, have night storage heaters that dont work FOR THEM and have tried the £50 solutions.Anyway if they had family I allways said id prefer and come back and talk with the Children as well.(surprise you does it?)
Yep I believe in these things why ?Because of comments from my customers.
Now ive said ill have a chat with you on the phone if your that bothered.
I keep saying it ,they are expensive but they do a great job.
I feel we have to leave it there ,we are just going round in circles.0 -
~~~~snip for clarity~~~~
If you are genuinly interested in Fischer Pm me your mobile and ill have a chat with you.
Every fan heater/radiator(not granny's fire!!) has a thermostat.grahamc2003 wrote: »A 2kw £2000 heater filled with aluminium granules and pink jelly will supply the same amount of heat as 2xikw irons, or even 20x100w.
Seriously though, I think you should have made it 21x100W bulbs, which would be a minimum number as I believe tungsten filaments are slightly more efficient than the 4.76% that my suggestion represents.
Would you classify your halogen heater as a fan heater or radiator? or neither?;)
The 400w halogen heaters are really a modern version of granny's 1/2/3 bar fire;)0 -
What do people think of this claim...fluffymuffy wrote: »But consider my air-to-air heat pump, for example. It produces 4kw of heat but only takes 1kw to run.The 400w halogen heaters are really a modern version of granny's 1/2/3 bar fire;)
); are you saying that they also don't heat the air, and that I could be sitting here right now being warmed as efficiently as my halogen does?
