Problem with Ebay Seller

Try that at Tesco or PC World and see whether they'll let you walk out with the goods...
Buyer has paid though so I cannot see your point.
By your analogy we should never be able to go to a shop and pay via credit card for something as they may well have to wait days for the money to work through their merchant account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Wow this thread brings back memories.
When I was a business seller many moons ago, I got to meet a good few other sellers, yes on the power seller forum over at eBay HQ. Well the horror stories they mentioned about "The paypal Hold", Some buyers were just darn right nasty, and not leaving fb OR pretending item never arrived etc etc, some sellers managed to get their money from paypal easy, other's had to take them to court.
I have never had to go through this neither as a buyer or a seller. It really does concern me though, If I were to buy an expensive item off of eBay, and seller told me they were not sending it until their funds cleared, Then I would just mutually cancel, and buy else where, with no questions asked. If I was the seller, I would investigate their fb/fb left for others etc and just make sure I sent it off SD and hope for the best.
Tricky situation though..0 -

Buyer don't know whether seller is subject to a 21 day hold though unless seller starts whining about it- so I cannot see why buyers suddenly start claiming non receipt. What makes buyers suddenly do that then for sellers who have their payments held. Are you suggesting that all the scam buyers somehow seek out sellers subject to a hold.?
For high end items there would obviously be tracking so again I cannot see the problem. I rather think you may have been talking to people who were leading you up the garden path.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As mentioned I don't think the buyer even knows its on hold unless you tell them, with that if they are going to try scam you they will do it if funds are on hold or not.
As I say I can't see a problem with the system.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Many people also work similarly - for wages rather than direct payment for sales - and thus are always paid for their work in arrears. Perhaps Hammy also finds this unfair - that's why he's in business - but it's standard practice for everyone who earns a salary."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I decided to have a look on goofbay to see what the sellers activity has been recently.
They have been a member since May and have less than 30 feedback. In the last 30 days they have made almost £1200.00 in sales, with almost 5k unsold. Very few sales prior to this.
I think we have the reason paypal are withholding!0 -

Oh yes. Even as a seller I see this as a positive move by paypal to inspire confidence in using paypal.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you had doubts about their account, then perhaps you should have steered clear of their listings in the first place and bought from someone who didn't look so suspicious. Not that that diminishes your issue now, and obviously my points all remain that they are doing the wrong thing, but if I'm not happy about a seller I don't trust, I don't bid."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
