The other thing to bear in mind LG is that emails totally distort the tone of what people are saying. You had a bad morning and were already feeling low when her badly timed and badly worded email arrived in your inbox.

Do you think you would have read it the same way if you'd sailed through your morning and been happy and carefree?

Just something to bear in mind because there aren't many people who are aware of my MSE journey, which could mean that I have friends who are also on here trying to save the pennies. She may have suddenly panicked about what she has left to get through the month and then been filled with regret at having spent so much at the weekend and decided to blame you in a fit of irrationality.

You know your FM better than any of us, so you know how she would have meant to come across, but sometimes these issues are more about a misunderstanding than an actual issue?

I hope you sort things out as I know how difficult it must be living with random people.
  • Sorry you are having a horrible day LondonGirl 252. I'm sure it will get better soon. Can you get out for an early morning gallop on the horses any time soon, to blow away the cobwebs? I always find that helps me.

I'm sure you will sort it out with your flatmate. Like others have said, maybe she is feeling the pinch too but at the end of the day she decided to spend money on a meal and champers.

And remeber, it could be a lot worse. (I know it's not much help but in the grand scheme of things you are doing great so don't let these little things cast a shadow over what you are doing.)
  • Hi everyone,

You are all too nice :) reading this has really cheered me up.

My colleague was so kind and he's bring me all his notes and books so I'm pleased I didnt win those auctions now.

I have horse therapy tomorrow and Saturday - can't wait!!! Going for a good blast on horse back does the world of good you're right HH!

Thanks for all the comments too, you're all right tone of email and something being up with her in general may have added to it but Ive known her a long time now and I think it is just how she is. I haven't replied to the email and will leave it be unless she decides to be an adult and talk to me about it.

I have also sent a message to two friends to enquire about rooms, I do think its time for a change now. She used to be easy to live with and its becoming increasingly difficult to stay sane at home these days so although I like the flat and area it may be best if I can find other friends who need a room mate - who knows they may have something which will save money?!

Going to be lama like for the rest of the day :o

Thanks again, you're all a huge support x

    Thanks! haha

Working late tonight, at least it may mean I avoid seeing anyone back at the flat I've a stonking headache and just want to be left in peace! Had a terrible day money wise today the cash I made from ebay is another £20 down.

As I was advised earlier, tomorrow is another day. I'll wake up with a more positive attitude and forget today

Ahhh right! I thought you meant like a Llama - you know the funny looking animal :):):)

Not long now until payday... go home, eat something and take some pain killers... everything will seem better tomorrow (once your Llama hair has gone :) )

A purple-haired London Llama... my mind is reeling...

Very sorry your Ebay money has been eroded today... :( Don't be too down though - you can console yourself that thanks to all your hard work today hasn't gone on credit cards or OD, so you are definitely going in the right direction still.

Not sure about the purple though... maybe pink is more your style?

    Hope the headache's going.

  • A purple haired Llama! haha that's made me chuckle!

Thanks, leaving home in a mo to go home and do exactly that. Pink definitley more my colour - someone told me today pink is the new "in" colour for spring btw - but I think I'll stick to being brunette!

Have a few friends investigating flatshare leads for me...

    Really enjoyed reading this thread.

Re the earlier discussions about cinema and not being able to afford to go - if you go on the freebies (no spend) board - subscribe to the free cinema tickets thread. Its always previews of films about to be released, and there's usually quite a lot of cinemas in London on there.
